I just got home from a concert that could have been quite a bit more fun if my friend hadn't made a complete fuckface of himself while wasted. I came with my group of friends: a girl, her friend, and her boyfriend. We're all cool with each other. We got to the show and I found my other friends I had planned to meet up with near the front of the stage. They were all considerably drunk. So immediately one of those friends starts trying to get with the single female friend. I had my arm around her at the time. Apparently that's not enough signal that I'm trying to get with her. I was a little bit stoned, she was pretty drunk, so I'm thinking to myself.. yeah I see where this is going. People who can't hold their liquor know no social boundaries. And my friend is definitely one of those people who drinks like a 4 year old girl. I casually told him to chill a little because I was trying to get with her. He's like, oh shit, you put me on the spot, what a moral dilemma. Well, he decided that she was more important.

So they ended up making out and shit, I got pissed the fuck off at both of them, and went to chill by myself. At least the show was awesome.

So to not make this a bitch and moan story, do you guys think I have the right to be pissed at my friend? I'm really a lot more angry with him for completely ignoring the fact we were kind of there together (me and the girl). I mean, she's not my girlfriend. We're just friends. But up until that point we were being touchy, you know. I'm not going to lie; I've kind of liked her for a while on and off, and tonight would have been a good chance. But whatever. I'm just a little surprised that my friend went and did that. I blame her too, but not as much.

Am I in the right here? Or am I being an over jealous bastard? Opinions please.

I don't know. While it still bugs me quite a lot, I think it's one of those memories that will fade over time. It's not like I walked in on her fucking some guy after we were together for a year or something. That would have prompted serious violence, most likely, and a lasting scar to the memory. Not very. I understand that people do stupid things that they later regret when they're drunk. Had they both been sober, I would be a lot more pissed.

Well, I agree to an extent. We have been friends for a while, so for this to fuck up a chance at a relationship and a friendship at the same time would be a little much I think. I've set a time to go get coffee or something with her and talk about it. As for talking to the guy, I'll wait until I'm less pissed so there's less of a chance I'll punch him in the face.

It's just extremely upsetting having this happen to me on completely different occasions with different people more than once. It's one of those things that kick your self confidence to the floor, which is directly proportional to success with the females, and it's just a vicious fucking cycle. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Just when you think you're about to pull out of it, some unfortunate event kicks your ass back in.

Well, I thought I should follow up.
We remained friends. We talked often and hung out frequently, and all the hard feelings went away. Yesterday, I took her to the river, where it's shallow, and we walked across to the middle, and sat on the big rocks. And I waited for the perfect moment, and I kissed her. And it was the best moment I've had in a very long time.
I learn a lot from the mistakes I and others make. My last two significant experiences with women have convinced me to stop over-analyzing and be more spontaneous. I am now putting this into effect, and I like the results.
