So I just had the most cliched date tonight, but it still went well....really well, although I did make a few mistakes. It goes like this of like this:

We go to see a movie, Dead Silence to be specific.

Mistake #1: She doesnt like horror/scary movies

She was scared the whole time so she was holding on to me and burying herself into me.

Solution:We go see another movie(score!) and next time she chooses

After this we decide to go to this smoothie place.

Mistake #2: She gets cold pretty easily and it was a good block or so away

So we walk there as she is shivering her ass off.

Solution:I get close to her and all, ya know hold her tight....all that fun stuff

We get there and we have our smoothies and chill and talk more and such.Then when we get to her house to drop her off I do the cliched walk to the doorstep talk a little bit more then the kiss of course to end the night.

Overall it went really well and we will probably go out again soon.

Has anyone done the cliched date, or has anyone had some pretty big screwups on dates but they still work out?

Sounds fun man. I took my new girlfriend to my mates place last night. She dosen't drink, but had a great time watching my mates and I get progressivly louder, driking and skating. I escorted her home (on the bus LOL) and walked her to her door and all that (there is my cliche part). Overall a good night, except for the part where I dented my mates doorknob with my knee...

Heh, I dated a guy who took me on a load of cliche'd dates... dinner and a movie, picnic in the park, all that good(not) stuff.

The guy I'm dating now is so much more creative... he found this half-built mansion on the beach that we snuck into and danced in the ballroom all night... it was amazing.

Well, I do plan to be much more creative....but I mean,I had to start somewhere before I ask her out....which I havent yet, but will monday.

Oh, I'm not saying you're sub-par or anything... I'm just saying that this boyfriend is better than the last as far as this goes... you don't have to go over the top with your dates, if you can keep things interesting without doing so.

Oh, I know, but I do agree, the unique things are alot more fun, no matter how intresting you can keep it w/o doin one.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who appreciates a bit of thought going into the plans... and if you live in a decent sized town/city, there's an endless possibility of creative things to do.

Vamp's got it. Ok, so me and my girl go to the Movies when there's something to see, right?

But when we were first going out, I didn't to that, way to cliche'd...

I bought tickets to the theatre: Classy, and good too because it was a absurdist production (They're funny ones for anyone who doesnt do drama.)

Some other suggestions are:

-Going to see a comedian at a stand-up club

-Climbing onto the high roof bits of shopping centres you're not meant to go and hanging out there after dinner or something.

-Interesting new places; There's this place called infinity down the gold coast (Queensland) that I took her, it's like a trippy light maze sorta thing, good fun for a few hours.

All fairly original ideas, and much more interesting and fun than regular dinner or movies or whatever the young 'uns are doing nowadays...
