fucking realizations and their fucking metaphorical bricks to the face
I'm young and naive. I suck at applying what I learn from my mistakes back to my life, thus making the same mistakes over and over.
Well, through the help of strippers, psychadellics, and a lot of time to think, I realized that (...ready for the shock horror?) regardless of how much you love some one, sometimes you just can't work (No fucking shit, but it took me a long time to figure this out for real).
My younger self, who lived in a more rosey world full of distortion and delusion, thought that "with love, any obsticle can be overcome". BZZZZZT WRONG.
Oh well. Life lessons learnt. The hard way. The best way? Regardless, lessons learnt.
So people, how many of you had to come to this sad conclusion through experience?
It's hurty.

Re: fucking realizations and their fucking metaphorical bricks to the face
I haven't experienced it, but I've seen it happen more times than is comfortable .
The worst part is when you can see it, but they can't yet. And there's nothing you can say.
I'd like to think that because of this I'd be wiser in that situation... but I bloody well doubt it.
Depressing.

Re: fucking realizations and their fucking metaphorical bricks to the face
I found that constantly analyzing your life only leads to depressing bitter resentment at the world. And then you eventually get over it or you don't. Roll with the punches, to be cliche, because not many things turn out how you want them to.

I wish I could say it gets better as you get older, that with the years you somehow acquire wisdom and the ability to learn from your fuck ups.
However it ain't.
I make a mistake and then I'll go and do it again, just to be real sure it was a mistake the first time round.

Yes well I've learnt I'm a horrible judge of character, and that the vast majority of people I know seem to have far reaching mental issues.

The mentally ill naturally attract other mentally ill people. It's not your fault, you were born that way. Don't beat your self up about it.

I realized the same thing about the relationship I'm currently in. Its basically all I got and I'm hoping things will change before she realizes what I already know.

Re: fucking realizations and their fucking metaphorical bricks to the face
I, for one, hate it when I feel like I have something somewhat important to say, but then have to phrase it in the form of a question to post it.
So I just don't.
Also, the brick to the face thing reminded me of Home Alone. Because I have the maturity of a 9 year old.
EDIT: Fuck you, I don't have to explain myself.

Re: fucking realizations and their fucking metaphorical bricks to the face
Arquin,
Don't tell us this; you are the President of the Cocksmans club!
Now, it could be that you have one of the fundamental characteristics of Addictive Personality Disorder. One of the main traits is when one continues to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result. This is not uncommon in human behavior.
This doesnt mean you are defective as a human. Just read up on the topic and all you need to do is be aware of this pattern you may be developing. Awareness is the beginning of change.
Secondly there is a phenomenon called Repetition Compulsion Disorder. This is not the same as APD; however, there are some similarities. One is doing the same shit over and over trying to fix things that you may have viewed as a failure in the events of your life. Many times these are subconscious events or efforts.
For example, a girl had an abusive father growing up. She was never good enough, so she constantly sought his approval, love and affection. She never did succeed, at least in her mind! She subconsciously sees this as a failure, so in her adult life she constantly seeks approval from men attempting to fix the failure she thought she had with her father. So the catch is she always finds men in her life like her father, they never give her the approval, love, affection or whatever it is she is seeking and as a result she goes from man to man continually picking the wrong partner and never getting what she is looking for in her life.
This is probably not the best example; but, it is all I can think of right now. Just Google Repetition Compulsion Disorder and read up on it.
Remember awareness is the beginning of change. At least right now you have identified what could be a potential problem.

Oh no you're ok. You're a bit nutty but at least your craziness is out in plain view. It's those sneaky whores that try and mask it that get to me.

Arquin, looks like you've learned a valuable lesson about life. Sometimes things don't work, so just sidestep it and move on with life.

What issues? I don't have issues, I'm as normal as they come.
You're like Swetzerland. Show some fucking emotion.

Anyway, to your original post, yes, I have as well.

No, its too neutral. I've said some of the most profoundly stupidly immauture shit and he's always neutral. Sometimes you have to say non generic shit, that's emotional to some degree. He always says what every one already knows, even though I'm sure he could come up with things no one thought of.
*edited in* Dude what I mean is, your comments aren't comments that people disagree with, it's always your comment, then 10 people agreeing, it's like you just say what people want to hear. I'm one of the ONLY people you don't do that to. Noticed this? Why? Don't like me? I respect you, but you make me wonder.
Euda, are you from Eastern Europe and did you grow up in the war? Serious question.

No. A set of my grandparents did grow up in Eastern Europe during the war; I value my grandparents. I've looked to them for guidance more than a handful of times in my life.
Your lifestyle reminds me of one that I lived. I don't have an issue with you and I usually avoid being hypocritical.
I have a habit of stating the obvious; it's a good place to begin. Could I offer more? Of course. Do you deserve more? Probably.

Sometimes the situation warrants arrest. It's a shame, mate, but it's good you've learned that lesson. It will toughen you up, by letting be what is.

That's true. Any love I have ever had has been crushed because of my lack of communication, or her lack of trust.
