Default Recycling sweet talk.

So I'm curious as to what the norm is. Say you're in love with your girl and you write her a few poems and letters and you do your best with words and come up with some good lines. Now, in the unlikely event that she isn't the ultimate love of your life and despite you believing you can't get over her and blah blah, you fall in love with another girl that also appreciates literature written for them. Is it ok to use some of the same shit you used on your old girl?

If you truly love someone, you shouldn't need to.

It would be alright as long as she isn't under the impression that she inspired the writings.

"I was looking back at some things I've written and now it makes me think of you."

Good answer. I wanted an explanation but didn't want to feel like a cock demanding it.

Why not? Language, Art, and Music came from millions of years of evolution in which increasingly complex mating rituals led to females choosing more expressive and intelligent males( http://tinyurl.com/3369pa ). I shouldn't throw all that evolution to waste Besides, it's not all something you plan and think through, it just feels right. Granted, few girls appreciate these kinds of things these days, but what have you got to lose in trying to explain what those crazy chemical reactions make you feel?

I was wondering the same thing

I mean, if it fits completely to the new person, why not use it? It's not wrong IMO unless you tell them you wrote it for them or something.

To be honest, I'd hate it if my boyfriend gave me a poem or whatever written for an ex. I'd feel weird and less special maybe.

I'll use a line or a compliment twice, no more. A poem, or anything as personal as that should never bee recycled.

You don't really know much about this, do you mate.

In answer to the question, keep it green, save the environment, and recycle.

But when it comes down to it, it's not too hard to come up with something at least a little bit different. Euda's explanation was best.

My sister always ends up with boys that write her poems.

Bad poems.

My fucking God it's funny.

In reply to your post, sure, if she doesn't find out about it.

You are not a writer by nature, I presume?

I would not recommend recycling poems like that, not even with an excuse like the one Euda prepared for you.

I would not recommend letting a girl see poetry you wrote another girl either. That could become a can of worms if you don't write very much and she might feel this other girl was loved more because she inspired you.

That's my two cents.

Don't listen to everyone here. Do what YOU want. And do what YOU feel is right.

Just make DAMN sure if you reuse it.. she never finds out.. ever. Can never talk to your ex.. for the chance it comes up.

She can never find out. EVER.

I consulted my bible and I couldn't find anything against reusing love letters, so I think it's okay.

If you still have doubts you should talk to your pastor, maybe he can help you write some new love letters.
