Default Sonar and whales

The US NAVY is still ignoring warnings that sonar is giving whales brain hemmorages. Why is there still widespread sonar testing after the Soviet Union collapsed? How many submarines does al-Qaida have?

Its probably causing extinctions on the ocean floors, just like during the beginning of the industrial age. They used whale oil to oil the big machines in factories. Whale oil is boiled down blubber, so of course they had to kill the whales.

Since they weren't dieing at sea, their bodies didn't sink to the ocean floors like they naturally would have. There they would have become nourishment and shelter for small little creatures and plants, creating a first knot in the huge web of life in the ocean.

Since they didn't die at sea, the web began to frail. And its probably happening again now. Sonar is responsible for whales beaching themselves as well, not dieing at sea.

You're a fucking retard. It's not like China or Iran have submarines. Who gives a fuck if whales go extinct anyways? Will it lower your quality of life one iota?

Yeah, diplomacy sucks. Let's continue violence against nature and adopt narcisism!

You're a cretin. If you cannot fight diplomacy is useless because WTF should they deal peacefully with you? They can kill you and you can't do shit about it. If not for the military you'd be living under a communist or Nazi or Muslim dictator ship.

Why the fuck should I care about whales? Give me one reason.

It makes perfect sense. If I'm armed you can't just go up to me and rob me because I could shoot you. If I'm not you can do whatever the fuck you want to because there are no consequences.

for about 20 mil American the Russians will sell you one with missiles. Iran has subs, for one. Many nations do. Its stupid to stop using a wep because your current enemy isn't using it.

Because they belong to an ecosystem. Taking them out would be like taking the foundation out of a building. It would collapse. Why do you care only for yourself? And BTW, we negotiated with Stalinist North Korea didn't we?

America is a nuclear superpower. The nuclear superpower.

No one, if they want a long and healthy life, is going to attack you with some fucking out-of-date, toxic, Russian rustbucket.

It would help if Americans gained some bladder control and stopped irrationally pissing themselves over every perceived bogeyman.

Trouble is, America's enemies don't seem to want long and healthy lives. Terrorists blow themselves up to attack us. Dictators like Saddam and Kim Jong Il appear to have almost zero rationality behind their actions.

"Terrorists" blow your troops up when you deploy them on other peoples soil. Which as far as troops are concerned, is an occupational hazard.

As for American soil itself, 9/11 couldn't have been prevented if Bush literally had the Death Star at his command. However, if he'd acted on pre-existing intelligence instead, it may have been a different story.

How fruity an 'enemy' state leader is, is not the question. It's their ability to realise potential to do harm. With reference to sonar technology and sea warfare, Saddam's navy could have hardly been classed as a threat.

As for Kim Jong what direct threat to America does he pose? quote:Originally posted by Brady:

As for Kim Jong what direct threat to America does he pose? ICBMs? We're not even sure the supposed N. Korean nuke det' was actually that.

The navy did stop using whales for target practice. You have to give them that much. We are talking about an organisation that lobs cruise missles at building hopping that they are military targets, you exspect them to care about animals.

So you think that if you have nukes you can neglect the other branches of the military? The Russians tried that, look how well they fared in Chechnya.
