Damn.
I sure as hell haven't been here in a long time. Bet you all thought I forgot about you. Nope. I'm sorry to see that DeadlyCindy isn't a mod anymore, though.
Anyway, to keep the post relevant to this forum, I guess I'll disclose a bit about my romantic circumstances. I've been dating a 42-year-old woman for about 10 months and I couldn't be happier. Another me couldn't have ever imagined myself in such an age-disparate relationship, but damn, it's good. They CAN and do work, so it seems, and it doesn't have to be about money or desperate older women or anything of the sort.
Yeah, I'm in love. Anyway, any thoughts or experiences to relate about age-disparate relationships? I realize this is probably an old topic, but hell, this is an old forum. It's good to see that it's still here. Bye, everyone.

My exgirlfriend was 10 years older than me and I'm just 18. Think you can beat that?

I've never understood the 'older woman' thing.
Admittedly, my partner is younger than I am, but it's not a huge age discrepancy.
Is it good?
How's the sex?

Re: Damn.
So...tell me...please...
What makes the relationship good?
What do you share in common that makes up for the differences in life experiences?
Does she have children?
Has she ever been married before?
In what areas do the two of you struggle in the relationship? (Although, your relationship is quite young so you might not have reached that point yet.)

I seem to remember she was going to get rid of the roommate from hell...
Then she stopped posting...
Maybe he took her back down there with him?

It's good because we have a great rapport with each other, romantic and otherwise. I knew her for a good few months before ever dating her (it came as quite a surprise to us both, one night). Of course, this isn't the only reason, it's one of many, but this could easily turn into another long post if I go on and on. Suffice it to say, there's a lot of love there, and a lot of highs (and a few lows) hit in the time we've been together that have brought us very close.
What do we share in common? Well, one thing would be thirst for adventure and a love of the New Mexico outdoors (any local out there knows what I mean...All three of you!). We also think a lot alike about a lot of things, but we're different (actually, quite different) enough from each other to keep things interesting too.
One kid, and a previous marriage.
I suppose we struggle, albeit minorly, over misinterpreted communications that occur now and again (you know; "I didn't mean it that way", "I should have thought that one out more", etc) from both ends. We've never had any massive, screaming fights (both of us are too mature for that), but several heated, emotional, though pretty civil, arguments.

Yeah, it sucks when regulars do that. Really inconsiderate.
EDIT: Holy shit, don't go back into Bad Ideas, you'll have a brain haemorrhage or something. It's a little... worse for wear.

Do you get along well?
How is her relationship with her ex?
Btw, how old are you? You didn't say.
edit:
Btw, I'm not just being nosey. There are reasons why I'm interested in this part.

So what happened to you my little hombre?
I may hit rock bottom in a few weeks, because I recently found out the air force might not be renewing my husband's commission!!!! This would mean he would be unemployed in like 3 weeks...I think my hair has started to all fall out due to the extreme anxiety.

Don't take it too seriously, or anything. Hell, what exactly is there to be worried about? 6000 years ago people got along just fine without having to go to a 9-5 job. if push comes to shove you could do it, too.
there's always a bright side and such.
don't beat yourself up over anything, there's nothing worth suffering over.

Hah, actually FUBAR came into #totse and was rather pissed off because his account was hacked. So I gave him my old account. Then he went and just made a new account, and didn't give it back (accidently killed it).
But hey, whatever makes you feel better you smelly wannabe Kiwi.

I think you have an inferiority complex and has to spray bullshit all over the place to make yourself feel better. Even if I am wrong, you still get no points because 28 year olds can pick through the litter, not vice versa.
Show some respect to older people shit.

I would seriously question the mental faculties of a grown, 28 year old woman that wants to be with an 18 year old boy.

Infrared, although relationships such as yours are strange there's nothing in the bible against it.
If you want it to last you should make sure your relationship is centered around Christ and that you wait until you are married before having sexual intercourse.
God bless you!

She got into drugs, basically. And I was also a violent controlling asshole much of time, so I can't put all the blame on her.
And yeah, I was a straight, complete T-totaller for three fucking years. I was a huge stoner and drunk before I met her, she convinced me to give that shit up. Ironic that she'd leave me for it.
Even more ironic that I'd go right back to it because of her, haha/

Re: Damn.
Why didn't you just get into drugs with her then since you ended up back in it anyway? Then things might have worked out. Nothin' wrong with causal drug use. Unless of course she was going down a path of addiction with something hard. That is pretty fucked up though, making you quit then starting to do it herself.
