am i asking too much?
so my boyfriend and i are fighting again, not that that's really a surprise.
this week is our spring break, and he wanted to go to his house (about 250 miles away from school/my house). he asked me if i wanted to go with him, and i said no, because i hate the town that he lives in (actually, it's mostly just that i hate going there because all we do is sit in the garage aka his bedroom), but i wanted to spend the break with him, so i would if he wanted me to. he wouldn't answer my question, he just kept saying that he didn't care if i came or not because he was going to have fun either way (way to show your girlfriend you care about her, right?). well, needless to say, i came, and now we're fighting.
the first day that we got here, we played ps3 for an hour or so, went to eat, and came back and he stayed up all night playing dragonball z with his cousin while i slept. the same thing happened the next day. i told him that i came here to spend time with him, not to watch him play video games, and he couldn't understand why i was mad because 'we're in the same room, so we're spending time together'.
so we fought about that some more, and yesterday he said that the next three days would be mine to do whatever i wanted and he would take me anywhere i wanted to go, and after that he was going to 'relax' (aka - play video games). this morning, i woke up and asked him to take me to walmart because i needed to pick some stuff up. he refused to get out of bed, so i ended up having to take his mom's car and go by myself. i came back, asked him to take me to the stock show, and he once again refused. we started fighting again and he said that since we're on spring break and he's trying to relax, he shouldn't be responsible for any promises he made me.
we fought some more about it, fell asleep, and woke up fine. we just got done watching a couple of movies, and he was falling asleep during the last one and i was tired so we were going to go to bed, but his best friend had called so he called him back. his friend wants to go to the stock show on wednesday, and he said yes without any hesitation whatsoever. now, my boyfriend already had plans to play video games with another one of his friends all day wednesday, not to mention that wednesday was supposed to be 'my' last day, but he's going to ditch both of us (well, he said he would take me, but still...) to go to the stock show with his friend.
totse, i'm confused. from my point of view, i have a right to be mad because he refused to go anywhere i wanted to go today even though he promised me he would take me wherever i wanted, but now he's going to go with his friend even though he wouldn't take me because he hates animals and doesn't want to be around them. he says that he's killing 2 birds with one stone by taking me and hanging out with his friend.
this is also really pissing me off, because i was pledging with a sorority and he would get mad at me for going to their functions because, as he put it, 'you have me, you don't need any friends,' but it's ok for him to hang out with his friends whenever he wants even if he already had plans and had already promised me something; and he thinks that i need to dedicate 100% of my attention to him even though lately he's barely been giving me any of his.
am i really asking that much of him? all i want him to do is to stop lying to me, stop promising me things that he knows he's not going to do, and stop demanding things from me that he's not willing to do for me.
edit: i just read through it and realized that some parts of it don't make sense. it's 3:15 in the morning, i'm tired, and i'm upset. i really don't give a shit right now. i'll probably correct it later on after i get some sleep. oh wait, i won't, because i'm sleeeping on the couch in the living room tonight because he's playing video games in his room. fuck.

Re: am i asking too much?
First off, you seemed to have made the mistake of dating a boy and not a man.
He's till in the 'crypto-faggo' or 'bros before ho's ' stage of wanting to be with his mates all the time.
It'll probably be a couple more years before he mans up.
Second , the mere fact you write about 'having a right to be angry' tells me that a dose of maturity on your part wouldn't go amiss neither.
*smacks you both upside the head (although his harder than yours)*

Nah, ketch, you sound right on the money.
It looks like immaturity on both their parts. It won't get any better so best just end it.

the thing is, we usually spend pretty much all of our time together. that's why i'm not sure if i should be mad or not. the way i see it, he shouldn't be ignoring me, but when i try to look at it from his point of view, he hasn't been home since christmas, hasn't seen any of his friends, and just wants to relax and play games. back at school, we both have people that we hang out with occasionally, but for the most part we really don't have any close friends besides each other. am i being a bitch for acting like this when maybe he just wants to spend time with his friends that he hasn't seen in months?
i'll agree with you about myself and being immature. this is my first relationship and i'm very green. he's definitely not helping either, though; he leaves all the major decisions up to me and won't add any input, not even his opinion because he doesn't want to 'influence my decision'. but anyways, i'm not really sure how a relationship is supposed to work, and he won't help me out, so i'm pretty much left to figure things out for myself, with the help of totse.

No not really. He shouldn't really be that arsed about seeing his mates.
For men 'hos' come a long ,long way before 'bros'.
Im sure all the men here could think of better things to do with you in a garage at night than fondle a controller.

Re: am i asking too much?
I'm only getting one side of the story, but it sounds like he's taking you for granted and is quite possessive. The whole not wanting you to have friends thing is pretty wrong.

First off, you shouldn't have lied to him. If you don't like staying in his room all day say something. Men can't read minds, and what's more they are alot worse on picking up on vibes than woman are. You really have to sit guys down and explain things slowly to us...even if it seems blatantly obvious to you.
As for the rest of your post, it's my armchair relationship expert view that either 1. He's completely clueless or 2. He's stopped loving/liking you and is too much of a boy to put an end to it maturely.

i didn't lie to him, at first i told him that i didn't want to go because i didn't like his town, then he told me how much he loves his town because he grew up there and blah, blah, blah... so i told him that i wanted to actually go do all the fun stuff that he says there is to do there instead of just sitting in his garage like we did last time i came down here.
edit: i've also been thinking that maybe he's trying to get me to break up with him, because he keeps saying that i'm in charge of the relationship and i'm the only one that can make major decisions regarding it(but he can still decide that he's going to break up with me in august if i don't get rid of my animals). i tried asking him yesterday if he was trying to get me to break up with him, and he got mad and said that i should know how he feels about me and he shouldn't have to tell me all the time.

I think he'd be more interested in how much longer he has to play his video game to beat the top score.

Re: am i asking too much?
Yeap, immaturity, but was I the only one to pick up on the 'you have me, you don't need any friends,' bit? Sounds like a potentially abusive relationship. Ditch em at least for a while
