Anger!
He smiles, towering in shiny metallic purple armor. Damn you Hendrix!
Okay, to the point.
I have this friend. Not a really good friend, but an acquaintance that I see about every week or so, and I'm better friends with his brother. Anyway, I've heard about some violent outbursts that he has. For example, when he does homework for his AP classes, he locks himself in his room for 4+ hours. One time, he got so frustrated that he threw a chair through the wall.
Another time, we heard about his outbursts so we decided to throw ping-pong balls at his door (while he was doing homework) until he came out. Don't ask me why. Anyway, when he finally came out, I've never seen anyone so full of rage. He was still restraining himself, but he was throwing things and pushing his brother. It was funny in an "Oh my god I can't believe he's this insane" kind of way.
He gets angry at the dumbest things, but when he's at school, he's completely, utterly reserved. He never talks. But when he gets home, he's angry.
He has a problem, but I don't know how to help. I don't know him that well, but I don't want him to start abusing his brother or his mom.

Re: Anger!
Refer him to a doctor.
And see if you get him to take up some kind of sport, like boxing or running.

Re: Anger!
Sounds like someone needs to chill and get a life, I used to be really frustrated at home, I never was violent but I'd just shut down and stop reacting. Then I started talking more at school sleeping and just not giving a damn, doing o.k., but not putting my all into it, yea I know bad for my future all that shit, but so much less stress I'm so much more relaxed, and I meditate, hang out with friends and just chill. He'll get there, or 'e may need medication, but religion, only ever angered me, something about the way it works, this isn't the thread for that talk.

Re: Anger!
I don't know, I'd be pretty pissed if I was trying to do something important or productive like studying and some douchebags couldn't find anything better to do than throw ping pong balls at my door.

What can I say, I guess sometimes I'm annoying.
But still, he overreacted, and that's an understatement.
The problem is, I don't know how I can refer him to a doctor when I don't really know him that well and we never have any real conversations.
Maybe I could tell his brother to tell his mom to suggest getting some help. I think that me suggesting it would be a bit out of line.
