I am a first year at the SMFA (school of the museum of fine arts ) in Boston and have a photography final project coming up.
The basis of my project is to outline the social inequalities prevalent in established American society.
I am going about this by giving out disposable cameras to people of different socio-economic backgrounds and life styles such as:
Homless news paper sales man
North Eastern University students residing in Dorms
and possibly, You.
I will mail you the camera - or if you live in or around Boston, we can meet - a SASE to mail it back, and upon return of the camera, a thank you check the Dean has graciously made possible for me to provide through her discretionary grant.
This is a serious project and I do not aim to exploit, in fact, I am to help and to start a conversation in an otherwise provincial school where the only thing worth talking about it dodge ball practice.
What you will have to do for me is take photos from your own life, simple enough.
Keep in mind that other people will see these so censor yourself since I wont do it.
Keep in mind people will see these so use this oppurtunity to speak out! Say something with your photos.
What in your life will other people likely not experience ever? Addiction? Abuse? Wealth and Luxury?
What in your life is not fair? What do you envy or feel you deserve?
I have read the forums regularly since I was in middle school but rarely posted in response to anything, so I am no stranger or Narc

Please send me an email describing yourself, and what you think about the project. I will get back to you. Please be honest so I can give you the money, again,
Thanks.

Her website is amazing and has a point. She often pays close attention to the luxuries that matter so much to the rich and contrasts them with the facts everyone else has to live with.
Like the upperclass Chinese in Communist China compared to the story of a homeless couple who took care of each other in an upscale shopping area of California.
