Default Not sure after a year...

Girlfriend and I had our 1 year last night. Except, it didn't go very well.

First off, she's at college and I'm in our hometown (about an hour away). I couldn't get financing (independent FAFSA's, bitch guidelines that I don't meet and parents won't fill out).

Her and I hit it off extremely well. Last summer she even moved into my apartment with me. Spent every night + day there, and we loved it.

More and more, she's been hanging out with this other guy on her floor. She says it's nothing major, she's just really close with him. It's kinda like since he's around her at college and I'm not, she hangs out with him all the time. Kinda scary, considering the guy is just like me (I've met him before). Hell, he even LOOKS like me. She came back into town to go see the Akron vs Miami game and stayed at her house overnight with the other guy. Us 3 watched a movie (kinda awkward with him there) and then I spent the night in her room.

She's different though. More and more she's not sure with us being together. Instead of a good anniversary, she laid there crying. I don't know if it's school, or the fact that I was there with her while the other guy is 2 rooms down, but she wasn't the same. She says that she's just gotten accustomed to life at college, including me not being there.

She says she just wants things to go back to normal. Go back to us being together everyday; go back to the summer we met. I can't do that though. Work and the distance to travel makes it hard to even do weekends. Granted in about 2-3 months she'll be back for summer, he'll be 3 hours away, and it'll change again, but what about next fall? This has happened over one semester, I don't know how three will fare.

Maybe I should work on seeing her more. I brought up the possibility of me coming down like, every weekend or so, and it was the happiest I had seen her all night. Part of me says that she still wants to be together, but part of me can already see this relationship falling apart, either by her cheating, or me fading out of her life more and more.

I guess I'm just looking for suggestions on how to save this. Is it worth going to the same school together (she did bring this up, and said she'd want to get an apartment together)? It does have one of the best engineering programs in this state, and is cheaper than the other schools I was looking at.

well, seeing it was pretty damn long, id say if its not golden at 1 year then pull the plug... i have a joke about that 1 sec.

If you want to save it make your life simplier, most the guys problems are like easier.

It's a big decision. You have to weigh your feelings against your common sense.

I'd say go for it, there doesn't seem to be any reason not to try.

You can't take things backwards. She has to be aware of that fact. Life moves forward, it'll never be exactly the same.

It sounds like she misses the idea of you more than she misses you. It's always tricky to make a decision like this one. Best of luck.

Well, I think she came to her senses.... she said she thought about the summer the whole way back to school and realized how great it'll be.

I'm going to give it some time and try to make a trip out to see her soon.

I'm willing to work for it, and I trust her when she says the same. It's just going to be rough with both of our busy lives and being long distance.
