A question for the ladies of S&A.
Why is it when I tell my girlfriend that I don't want to hang out with a certain friend of hers she goes apeshit mad? Are all women like this or what?

I'm not a girl but YES they do. Girls treat their friends differently and do not try and compete with them. YOU WILL LOSE. I cannot emphasize this enough. Try and be harmonious as possible or you will become the jealous, controlling boyfriend that everyone will despise, including yourself.

We'll think of it this way. If some girl tried to make me pick between her and my boys, I don't even think of that shit I'll never go w/ her over my boys. So I understand that shit.

In a serious relationship, it's in everyone's interest for people to get along. It makes it easier. I can see how she might be frustrated that you don't like someone she's close to. It's messing her up. And she doesn't know how to express her feelings appropriately if she goes apeshit over that.

I've been saying that all along. But, as mentioned above, girls seem to treat their friends differently than guys. I couldn't give a shit what she thinks of my friends. If she doesn't like one of them, I won't bring her around him. Simple as that.

Don't beat yourself up over it. Jealousy is something that is hard to fight. If the relationship isn't that serious yet it may be better to just learn from it and move on. It will go better next time. If you've issued ultimatums and drawn lines in the sand it's pretty much over anyway.

I'm not asking her to stop hanging around with him though. I just don't want to hang with him.

Re: A question for the ladies of S&A.
it's fair enough if YOU don't want to hang out with them and you're not trying to stop her from doing so. it's probably just the way you're going about it. do you go off about why you dislike her friend so much? if they're good friends, she won't want to hear all the negative stuff about someone she cares about. like, i understand if my boyfriend doesn't like one of my friends, but it's way easier to deal with it if he just says "you know what, we just don't get along and i don't want to make the situation awkward, so it's probably better if i'm not around her."
