I met this girl who is a friend of my friend and we got on really well. She has a bf of like 2 years but it is a long distance thing and they've never actually spent any prolonged periods of time together. Just holidays. Now I'm pretty confident she is into me since we basically are unseperable when i see her (about once a week) and she is texting me quite frequently - which would be strange for someone you've only just met and only see about once a week.

Anyway, she admitted to me after a couple of drinks that she was never really that into her bf when they started and is never really bothered about seeing him. They are meant to be going on a trip to the US this summer which has been arranged for a while. She said that the trip would probably be a decider as to whether or not they would stay together.

So, should i tell her i like her now, wait a bit and tell her i like her just before she goes or do i not tell her and wait til after trip to see if their still together? She said the only reason they've really lasted this long is convienence.

That's how I got with my most serious girlfriend. She had a boyfriend for three years, always complained of not being happy, we spent basically all of our free time together- basically same case as your's. One day I asked her if there was ever something between us, when she said yes, I asked if she felt it died and she said no. We made out that night, 2 days later she was single.

I think i have to agree with pepper - kissing her would be wrong. i dont want to be with her while she is not single. so i have to decide whether or not i should tell her to dump him and get with me or just play it cool and hope she dumps him. Plus I havent met the guy so he could be huge - and would hunt me down if he found out we'd been kissing. Tho he's probably a shy bunny, frozen between headlights.
