Ill ask the obvious question..
There are tons of sites detailing how to make explosives, but ive NEVER seen one that details how to make a workable firearm.
Anyone know of any?

that must be because you didn't look hard enough, if you have MSN, add me
notorious_alterego@hotmail.com
I have the book "Homemade Expedient Firearm; The 9mm Submachinegun" on my PC, I'll send it to you by MSN then. The book is really good, but I have found it difficult to find the right size of tubings in Belgium here, but it might be easier in other countries, haven't been looking that much either. I'm still expecting a catalogue from this tubing-factory.

Goto a gun and knife show and buy a book called Improvised Munitions Handbook TM 31-210. It is one of those books the government wished it had never released to the public.

You could try to make a zip gun. They work, but can only last 2 or 3 shots (can be more. It just depends on how well made it is) and can easily explode, even though I know of a few people that made one with success. Ive never made one, but Dingo and a few other people here have good info on how to make one.

Type "Sten gun" into your favorite internet search engine.
--------
Do realize though, that making one requires at least a drill press and lathe. I dunno if any welding is required or not.

Hi,
I was hoping someone could direct me to a "hobbyist" type site, such as the "hobbyist" explosives sites.
Scanned manuals arnt as much interest to me, as any ive seen require much machining and are over complicated dominated by filler fluff.
Hasnt ANYONE made a gun and posted pics on the net!!. It really is something the internet is lacking.

Making explosives is just mixing chemicals in a bucket--something much easier to do than making a gun out of steel parts. A Sten is ugly, but really is easily among the simplest "real" guns you'll come across. Plans have been circulating publicly since WWII. What were you expecting to use, paper mache?
......
I typed in "sten gun plans" in Google, and the first site that came up is a PDF of.... plans for building a Sten gun. Imagine that! <:o

You must ovbiously have no idea what you are talking about. So are you saying that in a synth for mercury fulminate or some other primary explosive you just mix some chems together in a bucket? Please learn some basic knowledge about explosive procedures before you make false statements about them.

I kind of see what he was talking about when he said it is much easier to make explosives than guns. Those Sten gun plans look WAY too complicated to me, and would probably take more time and effort than HMTD or mercury fulminate.

No. And certainly not ones that don't require you to have a good selection of tools and a modicum amount of experience using them.... no. If you're not interested in machining weapons, about the only thing you'll find is those retarded textfiles that were lifted from Kurt Saxon and The Improvised Munitions Handbook. However, I will say for the record, that the gun designs presented in the Improvised Munitions Handbook are more than adequate if one intends to use them in a "program of acquisition" rather than using them exclusively. A little modification is in order if you want them to be safer but still, they're adequate.
".....Hasnt ANYONE made a gun and posted pics on the net!!....."
Yes, I've made about a gajillion of them (read to mean a lot), from "primitives" to "good enough to take to war" (IMHO). But no, I haven't posted any pics or tutorials to the net... yet.
"It really is something the internet is lacking....."
I agree. But, for now, people will just have to settle for the useless textfile crap that's out there...
In the meantime, did you have something specific in mind, or were you just looking for a site that took all the work and thinking out of it for you?

Re: Homemade Guns
Just make bombs and sell them to people, and when you get enough money, buy a gun illegally. Thats what im doing. I make small fuse grenades and I now know a guy who can get me gun whenh i have the cash. so just do something like that. spend about 80 bucks and buy a ball mill from united nuclear. than spend like another 50-100 and buy all the stuff for black powder(i can never remember the name of all the ingredients unless im reading them.) but anyway. you buy lots of fuses and shit as well. Its really simple. BUy Co2 canisters or something. you can make a bomb casing out of anything.
Im suggesting this method of aquiring a firearm because its safer, easier, and more realistic than building one of your own. It takes alot of work to build a gun. I tried once but i dont have a head for small machinery, but I have a great head for chemistry. so i make bombs. Simople. Enjoy.(hope it helped in some dumb way...)

Let me put it this way: assuming we had all the tools and materials necessary for both on hand, I bet I could mix any explosive you wanted in a matter of minutes. How long would it take you to make all the parts for a Sten? 8 hours? 40 hours? Longer?
---------
I don't know anybody who's ever just tried to build an entire "modern" functional gun from scratch.

Re: Homemade Guns
A simple 12 ga gun to make is using two good quality of tubing of which one slides inside the other. Now any cal. could be used but I have seen this one as it was used by our govt. Pull apart to load/unload. Put wood stock just like any other shotgun with the fore arm like 28 thompson (vertical).Any questions give a shout.

exactly my point. any idiot can build a Co2 bomb(not saying anyone is an idiot, please no one take offence) in seconds. I can make about 5 in 2 minutes if i want to, and if i have all the equipment. but how long would it take to make a sten gun or whatever. good luck on that.

Re: Homemade Guns
I cant remember who it was, but a few months ago someone posted a homemade gun. It looked really nice, it was black, and from the side it looked like a basic design, resembling a glock, when when you looked down the barrels is had four barrels instead of one, and the gun had an electrical system set up to fire it. You can probably search and find it, if the guy doesnt post it again.

Re: Homemade Guns
Actually those four barreled electric guns are big news right now, apparently the guy who invented it found some big money backers and the us military is interested. I saw an interview and what not on tech tv recently. The project is called "metal Storm" and has gotten so far as a reported 10,000rpm on a handgun and 100,000rpm on a box like grid thing. Not to say they hold that much, they just fire really fast. The hand gun has built in smartgun technology. Look this up, its gone way farther than anyone can do in a garage, but still amazing.
I posted that "Expedient homemade firearms; 9mm smg" book and still have it, but beware the pdf(best version) is 35mbs and the scanned pics are 5mb but not as great. The jpegs are still readable, but arent great quality. Maybe I'll put them up on my webspace, but the hosting company doesnt like files over 1mb so I might just make a webpage of all the pics, or like 5 at a time for easier viewing, if I ever get enough time to do it that is. If anyone has a server where I could share the pdf version I will take the time to upload it for everyone. I am currently working on a semi-auto selection switch for the 9mm, but its tricky stuff you know.

Re: Homemade Guns
Hi,
My main intention was to construct an image gallery of homemade firearms - preventing people from re-inventing the wheel...
Ive found a couple on this site - http://www32.brinkster.com/drainpipew/index.html
The pengun looks sweet, no welding or machining required. The 12ga looks somewhat scary though, how the hell would you hold and fire that without slapping yourself in the forehead.
Dingo, get your pictures online!
I do remember that 4 barreled gun, muzzel loader fired by glowplugs, think it was commercial but (no it wasnt the "metal storm" that is hardly homemade!). Anyone know where a picture of it is still available?

Re: Homemade Guns
I wouldnt make that 12 guage hand gun. It will rip anyones arm off, and wouldnt be that powerful anyway.
Those other guns look pretty interesting though.

but what if you were to put a wooden or leather grip on the part of the barrel closest to the gun? It could work. wouldnt take much effort. get a couple thick strips of leather and duct-tape them on. should work nicely(i would think, but my expertise are explosives, not firearms....)

Re: Homemade Guns
I have the book about building the 9mm submachine gun online now, please dont kill my bandwidth Homemade Expedient Firearms; 9mm SMG (http://www.the-stalker.150m.com/page1.htm) there are 12 sequential webpages and around 5-6 book pages per webpage. When you get done with page 1 theres a link to take you to page2 etc.
