fester published a book a little back about meth synth using amoung a few recipes one using MDP2P I'm preety sure. Is it feasable to reveres the synth and make MDP2P from meth?

I'm not sure what MDP2P stands for exactly although you are correct if one were to synth MDP2P out of meth it would be going backwards (backwards according to uncle fester). I wasn't sure it was possible or feasable in terms of one mans small laboratory but, if you know how to I'd really like to know.

Do the stereo species of Meth made from Ephedrine/Psuedo and Meth Made from Phenyl Acetone differ? Wouldnt the specifc stereo type hinder a reverse reaction to render MDP2P?

I contacted my Mexican Merchant I know who would have access to this sort of stuff...or at least I ventured to guess as much.

I can just up and bypass making MDP2P and just go and buy it in its homogenous state.

MDP-2-P is Methylenedioxy phenyl-2- propanone, it is a precursor to MDMA, and is the last precursor to this fine chemical so looking to buy it will get you bagged and tagged.

It cannot be made simply or directly from meth nor can meth be simply and directly from it. I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying that there is no reason to do it as there are much more practical ways to obtain either, yield and expense would make this a silly thing to do.

Unless you mistook your words and meant P2P or phenyl-2-propanone. This is a direct precursor to meth and can also be made from meth itself (who would want to go backwards I know not)

Bottom line is that meth and MDMA chemistry are related by a similar structure but they may as well be in different universes because of that Methylenedioxy group.

Well tryptamine, I'm happy as a clam you finally saw my post and are giving me an answer I truelly am humble but, I do know MDP2P is a schedual one (BTW ask jam bout' his mexican "connection") and I know this is a "silly" thing to do but I'm one silly son of a bitch. Please just humor me. I sped-read festers MDP2P > meth synth and I hear its possible. (despite a few disgruntled people I've heard call fester a hack) anyway my point is just humor me if you know how to pull MDP2P out of meth. I would be MOST greatful just to know how despite yeilds.

Totell you the truth I've never even considered this an avenue of interest so I've never looked into the reactions that would effect this kind of transformation. Getting rid of that methylenedioxy group on the MDP-2-P will be next to impossible. There are ways of cleaving it but then you are left with halogens that need to be replaced with hydrogen. This would require a protecting group for your ketone.

A very tortuous process.
