I was messing with bleach and Cobalt Sulfate (and being my stupid self) woundered what was going on. The solution turned black and a gas was being formed. I suddenly noticed the toxic-like smell and i almost callapsed do to weakness. If i collapsed, i would of breathed that shit in, i could of died. What was that shit?

A good reminder to not mix anything with bleach that is sulphurous.

I beleive it was probably a close cousin to World War I gases used in the trench warfare.

i don't know..i was just scared..i thought i was gonna pass out and drown in my own lung fluids like the chlorine gas that was in WW1 or 2. But i don't think it's chlorine for it has a greenish tint to it. So don't believe people who say that Ammonia and Bleach together make Cl. cause i did that to but in a closed container cause there i knew gas was going to be formed.Shit...that was scary..feeling weak and shit, wanning to fall to the ground cause your so weak that it hurts to stand up. huh

Invest in a good gas mask, even though some of the older, crappier surplus ones won't help. You can find a good Israeli or new Russian model. I use my Israeli one all of the time while doing stupid shit.

its symproms increase proportionally with its percentage in solution or as a solid...

light skin contact,,,,stings,,,leaves a red mark/rash,,,wash continuosly till running water...

heavy solution contact with the skin,,pain to severe pain,,,will consume the skin right through the subcutaneous layer if not washed off...wash with running water till patient stops screaming

ingest minute quantity,,,severe pain,,ambulatory,,do not induce vomiting

anything more than a minor ingestation,,, dont worry about him,he is fucked,,best thing to do is as i suggest,,

How can anyone be so stupid as some of you. You mixed cobalt sulfate with bleach. There are only two gasses that can be formed, SO3 or Cl2, since you said it was green, it's Cl2. Chlorine gas is green, SWIM knows this because it has been cited, plus SWIM has seen first hand. Duh people.

Notice also that chlorine is a strong oxidizer, and can support combustion just like oxygen.
