 Word-up!! This is why some of our family was banned....
Most cable connections use static IP, but some cable companies are getting
smart and starting to use private address space static IP (i.e. 10.10.X.X or
192.168.X.X) which keeps people from running services on their home
computers. However, it also makes every single connection coming from that
cable company appear as the same IP number (or within the same block of IPs),
which means you ban one person, and you ban everyone at that cable company.

the reason they ban ip`s instead of user names is cuz you can sign back on with a new user name in 3 minutes. the only recourse is to ban the IP. like jam said if its space static then poof the whole block of ip`s in that block are banned. dial-up works the same way. one guy fucks up and half that state may not be able to access that site lol. the guys that got banned will find there ip`s start with the same 3 to 5 numbers id bet

i feel that those responsible for this inconsiderate subjection of honourable members to the unlawfull denial of there literary rights be taken at the earliest opportunity to a place clearly visible to the public and once there they be made to chant the mantra 49 times so there souls are released from the penance this horrendous
crime will bestow upon them

ahh, one of the few saving graces of dial-up: dynamic IP adds.
another:not having to pay for unlimited service, and dual linking two dial-up modems and lines for 112k max speed. but damn, i still want cable!
