guaifensin in ephedrine tabs
I have some ephedrine tabs that also have guaifensin and microcrystalline cellulose in them. Is the micro...cellulose going to be a problem later on? and is there an easy way to remove the guaifensin from the mix?

Re: guaifensin in ephedrine tabs
Grab some petroleum ether for the guaf.
Unless some chloroform is laying around then use it.

Guffy is not soluable in non-polor solvents jam, it is water soluable.

Re: guaifensin in ephedrine tabs
What about the microcrystalline cellulose? Is that anything like hydroxypropyl methylcellulose?

Re: guaifensin in ephedrine tabs
It's simply a microcstaline binder.
Talk about Old-School man!! Mini Thins were binded with this.
That hydropropoxlmethylcellulose is the same cellulose only it's got this too-->hydropropoxlmethyl.
The microcystaline cellulose you got is a microcrystaline in structure due to ephedrines baby powder fineness when milled down.
Yeah!!! Gone are the days of ole-crosstop Mini Thins man......bottles of 1000-25's all day long as many as you want....for what $16 per?!

yea bizzy? have you ever done anything? in many threads i see you making posts that contradict what people say that are known to be in the know of things. it seems like you have some chem knowledge but seem to fall short on clandestine operations. so ill ask you the same thing. have YOU ever combined pet ether with these pills? have you ever extracted any pills of any kind? dont get me wrong you are entitled to say whatever you want but it would seem that you would grow tired of contadicting people only to find out later that they were right and you were full of shit.

Hot damn Bizzy, been in lab tips for how long now? You already questioning someone like Jam.
Hell back in the day one could walk in any store on the block and get thousands of these pills. How the hell do you think us old timers cleaned them goofie things? Popped off some cans of red top ether and gave them a 24 hour soak.
Swim will give you a little heads up; calulate the price of each gram of E one is getting from them damn goofie sob's and swim bets you won't even want to know how to clean them.
Before ye advise get educated.

Re: guaifensin in ephedrine tabs
Guaifenesin is a well-known commercially available compound. It is frequently referred to as guaiphenesin or glyceryl guiacolate. Its chemical name is 3-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1,2-propanediol. It is a solid having a melting point of 78.5.degree. C., and its molecular formula is C.sub.10 H.sub.14 O.sub.4. It is only slightly soluble (i.e, about 5 wt. %) in water, but is readily soluble in alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, etc. By way of further identification, its CAS number is 93-14-1.
Now be sure to remember that Bizzy Bee.
Meth is only slightly soluable in acetone.
Reckon I better not be told what the fuck by the likes of you anymore. I mean it!

Re: guaifensin in ephedrine tabs
Are you telling me you got the fucking gumption to tell me you are the authority on the matter still?!
I told you I mean it Bizzy Bee and I wasn't just whistling dixie!!!!!
If you want I will outline the facts here before I update your level of acceptable participation here at Lab TIps.
If it is slightly soluable in a polar solvent it is thus soluable in a non-polar solvent.
Why? Gee I don't know!!
Maybe its something to do with what dictates soluabilities of a substance.
Or is it that it is due to the fact that petroleum ether is a bunch of bullshit and you know that foursixmethod and I are liars?!
Or is it due to the fact you said it is water soluable when you never have even fucked with these?!
I will not accept your participation until you retract your attitude of being dso smart and schooled on real world hands on experiences.
Calling the Moderator an uneducated and incompoetent fool is grounds for a backlash of bannishment so as to secure the level of interaction amongst the people here in our one big happy family.
Apologize for your participations and redeem yourself on the spot.
Refuse to do so and extend the unacceptanceto indefinince.
I don't play kid.
I got only to prove to you that I got nothing to prove.
You disrespcetful son of a bitch.
You ain't jackshit.
Jam.

Also read the merk and safety data sheet to see its not soluable in np solvents.
