Default crystal turns to oil

I have read somewhere where impure 'end use" solvents(eg. toluene) may be responsible for a product that goes totally oily in plastic after just a short time, and doesnt recrystalize under normal conditions of temp., etc. This is from a rpi method op. Excuse my obvious lack of knowledge on the guts of the subject, I'm just asking for a friend (he does the bomb, consistently...but methodology falls into the "mad genius" category...wild..

any solvent you use in chem,

must evaporate to nothing..

if you have any solvent that leaves an oily film,,

replace it....

if meth isnt dried ""perfectly"",,

it will go moist in a plastic bag...

i dont think you can blame the solvent for this,,

i feel its just a bit of whatever uncleaned from the eph

and if you havent cleaned correctly,

youll find that you will get one crystalization,

but it will not allow the residual meth to be crystalized...

try filtering the solution left over after the crystalization,,

or dry the leftovers and acetone wash it..

thanks kirby, I am quite used to getting responses from the peanut gallery, who have 'nothing to offer', but your response was to the point and positive. I'll pass the message...do you want some feedback on the results....is it possible that he (my friend) needs to be a little more patient during the drying process...or a bit more thorough...I have also read (in the literature) that the longer the drying process, the more pure and consistent the end product...would you agree?

this is a difficult subject,,

its one where each cook has his own methods, ideas and idiosyncrasies,,

a slow evaporation for some,,whom think heat changes it molecularly and loss of meth through heat evaporation..

others do it quicker, to much quicker,, with no thought or care..

myself,,

ive found the man doing under 50 grams is one carefull slow cook..

the commercial fellow doing his couple of 100 grams per cook couldnt give a running rats arse if he loses 5 or 10 grams he wants the job done and be gone.

i fell into the latter,, the in a hurry and run category.

i do know for certain that the length of drying time has bugger all to do with purity.

..thanks kirby....in an atmosphere where it seems most of the people are just hanging around trying to work out who is the coolest, a straight response to a straight question is..to say the least..refreshing. All this dribbling about "we who have the knowledge want all those who dont", to go away, is pathetic...I for one spent 4 years at uni doing a physics degree...and know what research is about...if you have the opportunity to ask someone who has done the prac., then you ask..that's not dumb...that's smart. Wouldn't you agree?

Smitty, there's a difference between seekers after knowledge and lazy idiots who don't want to do any work themselves, and you'd know that if you spent some time reading the endless stupid posts that come almost daily(e.g. I wanna quick, easy, cheap way to make meth in 30 minutes, and I want it now! Fuck you if you don't like my question!). Have you taken the time to read a few months of posts on here? that would be research, wouldn't it?

smitty

when we have someone asking, who is obviously well on there way to success, and posts a question on theory or techniques,,, all who come here to teach,,

will help you..

you fall into that category..

many who come here are just asking questions to kill time,,or they ask questions that indicate they have no clue as to what they are doing,,,and as much as i am one of the worst offenders for making fun of these people,,there are times when i and others go overboard in our abuse of them..

none the less,

when you counsel everyday,,

some days get the better of you which in my own case,

leads me to enjoy myself at there expense

Rinse that shit in acetone to get crystals.

Might even be tainted with lye due to not washing the np/freebase properly.

Put some lye out on a dish and watch what happens.

...apparently ( )...the crystals had formed well, and, (apparently), almost always do, the resulting product being consistently excellent, except, it kind of melts back into an oily goo when stored in plastic. So, the acetone wash will be the thing to arrest this process, you think. Thanks for the help, guys, I'll tell my friend to tell his friend, to tell his friend...to give it a go..
