Swiod's Pain In the Ass
. . .or recrystalizing. Swiod wants crystals- not some tree-huggin-hippie-crystal but rather some diamondesque type crystals. He uses ispropyl for cryst. and then gives it a tone flash, but always the same- never grows! Anyways, he'd like to know if puttin it in the freezer would make a difference like someone suggested once, and/or any other tips. he says thanx

Re: Swiod's Pain In the Ass
from what swim reads, room temp dryin will give larger crystals, swim was thinkin of dreamin hot ipa n cold tone and then freezer. but was thinkin of tryin a slow dryin ina closet.
never done a recrystalizen yet so swim only knows what he read, but soon will dream of tryin it out to see it.

Re: Swiod's Pain In the Ass
dissolve your goodies in the iso
evap the iso till a scale appears
couple of ml of acetone added
allow an hour to cool
an hour in the fridge
6 to 24 hours in the freezer
youll see crystals then

Re: Swiod's Pain In the Ass
Swim's heard that it isn't worth doing this with less than a ball.

Re: Swiod's Pain In the Ass
kirby said how, but not why: the more gradual of a cool-down you give it (more time over a broad range of temperatures), the larger the crystals will grow. The same amount of time spent at a constant temp (ie chucking it in the freezer) will not generate nearly as many crystals; it's not gradual enough.
