Should heat be added as a preference and how hot in deg C (50-80C?)
Signs to look for...

Re: when will I know when its finished?
what have you been reading...
12 grams of e
4 grams of red
12 grams of i
3 ml of dnh2o
first 4hrs, temp is aroung 65c
last 4 temp is 75c
youll get good gear after the 8 hours,,
but most think 24 to 36 hours creates the best,,
myself,,
i wouldnt have a fuckin clue,,

Re: when will I know when its finished?
quote:E/I2/RP...1/1.2/1...after 8-12 hours with no dh20...ready?You will a drop or two of water. The ratios are a-ok.
quote:Should heat be added as a preference and how hot in deg C (50-80C?)not sure what you mean by as a preference, but shoot for 60C-95C.
And signs to look for is oily honey is an substance thatwhen tilted in flask so as to get on the flasks wall the oily substance is runny and not sticking to the wall like it did and does while it's first reducing/reacting. The honey will turn a golden-yelow color you can't miss. Also, the RP will sort-of "drop" and applying a higher heat no longer causes bubbling and a noticeable reacting of the precursors inside. Don't rely on how it smells and in a nutshell that's about it.

Re: when will I know when its finished?
nowhere does sponge say anything about 12 of anything. he is asking about the ratios E-1 gram/I2-1.2 grams/RP-1 gram
look at it again lol
to answer the question now. yes those are good ratios for match book RP.
if you had lab grade RP the ratios would be
E-1 gram/I2-1.2 grams/RP-0.3 grams
this has been covered a million times SWIM typed it just yesterday in another thread.
as far as the water go`s SWIM has found that 0.5 ml per gram of E is the bare minimum on that long of a cook with 0.7 ml being the maximum for that length of cook. those water ratios are figuring on your precursors being bone dry. if you choose to use damp I2 and shit then SWIM dont have a clue as he drys all his shit bone fuckin dry so he dont have to guess at the water amount.

Re: when will I know when its finished?
AM, you put 12 instead of I2, but it's easy to see how both you and Kirby could make the mistake, because 12 looks a lot like I2.

Re: when will I know when its finished?
3/3 to 3.5/1 E/I2/RP(ratios preceeding not weights).... Depending on how much you gonna burn.... Did a 980g other night, put H2O on it 112 minutes later. Although disappointingly enough only got a little over 300 back on first pull. Shakin' is a bitch, bout time to go back to gassin.
