Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
Hey guys hope all is going well for you and Happy Holidays to all my friends and co-workers here on Totse, I have a question for someone with the experience to help me answer a question for a friend.
The question was whether or not the E has to be crystalized before an RXN, i didn't know if it would make a difference, but thought that if anyone happened to stumble across an answer to that if they could please let me know.
My friend said that thier E was clean, but cake not crystal, does this matter? I said I would try to find out before they started playing with something and ended with trash, so any help as always would bee appreciated. Thank you

Re: Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
No. If it's clean and trusting your own judgement and the pinheels clean E gives, then, no. No need. throw it in and fire it up!! http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/fingers/fing32.gif" width="90" height="90 (http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/fingers/fing32.gif" width="90" height="90)

Re: Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
jam is correct,
as usual,
but,
crystalizing it purifys it a bit more,
and for those doing the red/iodine shuffle,
the purer the better,
for those doing the ammonia/metal face squeeze,,
it doesnt matter as much..

Re: Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
Thank you as well Kirby for your input. I have let my friend know. They have another question, in the RP/I2/E would the yields be any different? I will let them know that they should probably go ahead and crystalize it so that it will be even more pure. Thank you both for your input.

It may not change your yield much but the cleaner the feed the higher the potency. After all potency is what were tryin for here Yes Sweet dreamin

Re: Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
In the little I've read about red it seems that it's been made difficult to acquire because of it's unique potentials and purposes (which are ever-so often listen here).
Is matchbox RP contain only 1/3 the P5 of lab grade RP? (I make this conjecture from Jam's statement that you should triple the amount of RP if using matchbox RP in a cook)
Both Purple and Red are being used for the purpose of the acids they become, right? yet the only acid I see that reacts with the E/PE is HI - to what use is the Phosphorous acid being put?

I think so, because there's a certain amount of sand/glass in there. Swim has pulled visible chunks of glass out of some MBRP that he dreamt of working on.

Re: Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
quote:Is matchbox RP contain only 1/3 the P5 of lab grade RP? (I make this conjecture from Jam's statement that you should triple the amount of RP if using matchbox RP in a cook)Correct. If using labgrade the uniform ratio is when compared to E-1/3rd:1[rp/E] Thus the ratio required for matchbook RP is three-times more as it is one-part-RP-to-one-part-E Now in the event that you mange to be refine with a total sense of eficacy then you can drop back down to a 1/3rd-to-1-ratio, but this is only so if you are doing a reduction of which the pseduo net-weight is one ounce(28-grams) or more.
If it's a say little 14-gram'er, then you can drop down to a 1/2-to-1 ratio.
Now before you get misunderstood here!! This pertains to an utmost clean and refined RP!! But it can be done man and it really is the extra efforts in the long run.
Those glues gotta be gone andthat clay ihas got to as well as it interferes with the surface area of the RP in that it prevents the total surface area of the RPto make and recyle the HI with the iodine crystals........But clay will run away with water man and RP won't so boil you some water and in a very fine strainer place your cleaned RP(cleaned as in glues are gone---> ) and like your frying french fries at McDonalds, dip the basket of the wore-mesh strainer into the boiling water........let it sit for thirty seconds and then pull her up........the idea here is to sufficiently expose the RP/clay to the hot boiling water and to pull her up and let the clay that got absorbed into the water to leave into the water.
After a ten to twenty minute run depending on your size, turn down the temperature to a slight boil............then no boil.......the clay will be settling to the bottom and not resurfacing onto the RP.
The RP will float if by chance some worked their way through but do yourself a favor and buy a super-fine mesh screen.
And don't start refining until you've got ten grams or more in gross weight!!
REMEMBER!! Nobody is speacial in catching a case of match-scartch-fever and all of the vicitms have to go through the same gruelling process. This is why I don't miss RP a bit![rp/E][
quote:Both Purple and Red are being used for the purpose of the acids they become, right? yet the only acid I see that reacts with the E/PE is HI
Well it'd be the ACID they become.
Not sure what you mean by the phos-acid comment, but it's doing the same with RP with the iodine.
The RP not only creates HI it recycles it as well which is why proper RP is reusable.
Jam.

Re: Kirby, Jam, Wicked, Acid
RP + I + H2O => RP + HI + O2
A rough statement, but is this what is happening? RP is a catalyst to make HI acid?
