why can't you just toss in kmno4 for cat synth?
for the methcat synthesis,
it's 1g of kmno4 per 3g of ephedrine.
now i keep reading that you should make a kmno4 solution first, then put a few MLs of that into the ephedrine solution.
why not just take 1g of kmno4 powder, put it in the jar of ephedrine water, and then stir it up... then refrigerate for 10 hours?

i dont know anything bout drugs but i would think if the K+ ions and the MNO4- ions are already dissociated from one another they will bond to the ephedrine more readily.

Re: why can't you just toss in kmno4 for cat synth?
hmm, i don't know 'bout that.
Basically, I am wondering why the synth on this site calls for 7.6 grams of kmno4 mixed with dh20... THEN take 15 ml of that solution... THEN put that into a new dh2o solution.
why not just take 1g of kmno4, mix with 250ml (or whatever) of dh2o... and just use that?
I think it may have something to do with the fact that most people have trouble measuring 1 gram? so it might be easier to mix a larger amount, then take part of the solution to equal 1 gram?

Re: why can't you just toss in kmno4 for cat synth?
Yeh Swim never figured that out eather.
Like the amount of kmno4 used would do enough for the rest of the year?
And/ or standing round while 1/4 Gal water evaps for a matchhead size bit?..?

Re: why can't you just toss in kmno4 for cat synth?
I think that synth assumes you don't have scales that measure in grams, so it describes the way one would do it without em.
But i did read somewhere that u HAVE to pre-mix your ingredients & chill to about 0 degrees before mixing them, then chill again, for 10 hours. I think the room temp is also a crucial part which should be about 25 degrees.
But then again, swim's never done it himself.
Wouldn't mind hearing how it goes?
