SWIM hears that the RP is in the matchbook striker pad but what the hell is on the tip of the match? SWIM is no genius nor does he make matches but wouldn't it make more sense if the RP was on the match head. When you light a match it flares up and catches the wooden match stick on fire. The matchbook does set on fire. This is really bugging SWIM.

the match head is sulfer and a bonding agent/glue. the RP is on the strikepad because for one its far more expensive than sulfer and for another matches would be striking and lighting accidently all the time. volume wise theres less RP on the strike pad then there is sulfer in one match head. if they were RP a book would cost 10 bucks lol

isn't there Potasium chlorate in the heads as well?

KClO3 + S is meant to be very unstable and could spontainiously ignite. I dissolved the matchheads and filtered out the binders then boiled off all the remaining water.

When it had all dried up I was scraping it about with a thermometer and it all ignited.

I want to find out what it is made of because I wanna try it out as a rocket fuel.
