Default stealing annie

Swim knows this is a tired old subject but Swim has looked high and low for the write up he saw floating around before. So could some one please point Swim toward some info on stealing annie, specfically info on valves, transfer and saftey precations? Like I said I remember seeing a write up but it has slipped out of the archives.

Thanks

first of all

your relying upon us to tell you what only you can find out.

do you have an ammonia cylinder you know of to steal from..

if not..

find the one your going to steal from..

then go there and check out valve sizes and threads..and for dogs, shotgun wielding farmers, fences, etc etc etc

buy yourself a 10 litre propane tank and change the fittings to stainless..

then have the correct length hose to fit nicely from mother tank to your new one..

the end going into your new tank doesnt need a fitting..

so you get to the mother tank, you have the right tools to tighten the fitting onto the mother tank..

and to undo the fitting on your propane tank..

now place the hose just into your new tank..

crack the valve so it begins to dribble into your new tank..

run away..

watch from distance..

run back to check on how full..

when an inch from top..

turn off valve.

lift out hose..

put fitting into new tank and tighten.

undo your hose from mother tank..

collect hose,new tank,tools,run away..

Summin swim just don't have in him, he'd rather make his own than do that crazy stuff. For one, swim hears the locals talk about alarms they put on them now, and you never know what you may get out of the tank, what adultrants have contaminated it, and Joe the farmer puts lead in ya ass, thats one contaminate swim prefers to leave alone

For what it is worth. The area swim is from now has special security locks on the tanks paid for with tax payer grant money courtesy of the D.E.A. They say these locks are tamper proof but swim has a dear friend that proved it wrong. Also if you are from a rural area not only will there be a mother tank but many babies around. Not all of them are drained this time of year and are sometimes easier to get at. As the guys said cover all your bases before going in and also look for cameras mounted on the tanks themselves, another feature added with grant money.

Never done this, we don't have annie fertilizer in NZ.

TheFryguy has two posts, this & MB limits at Wallys.

From what it sounds like, the tapping of annie, is the same as filling up a propane bottle at a gas station.

With the correct fittings its possible to fill a small bottle, say 2lbs, from a large bottle, say 45lbs.

Watch how its done next time you get a bottle filled.

Now IF you can do this with out the smallest sniff of Propane, then you may be able to figger out how to do annie, Without earning he nick name 'TheFryguy'.

Swim was watching world news a while ago & in local news there was mentioned a ammonia leak in midwest America, later on the world news came on and they announced that a poison gas had been released, possibly by terrorists, in the midwest. Local people had to evacuate.

Don't underestimate the danger.

First Tapping an annie tank is fairly easy (yet dangerous) if you know what you're doing, but in no way should it be compared to simple filling a propane tank.

Second Swim lives in the midwest, the annomia leak could be numerous things. Not sure just what it was, haven't heard anything about it.

Third Swim was kinda curios as to what Fryguys posts had to do with anything. Maybe his name comes from the old saying he is just fried.

Fuk it I did a whole big reply then it wiped out.

No harm intended.

A few posters (Kirby, whos hourley rate is probably higher than anyone I know 'cpt my Lawyer. Jamiroqui, Buffalo Princess.) all spent more time to post than it would have taken by Fryguy to find the answer anyway.

It takes a qualified person to fill propain (sic)tank, If some can do a leakless transfer of propane then they have a fighting chance to do the annie transfer. Or the knowledge that they shouldn't try.

That annie will "eat your face" hence the "Fry"guy thing.

That a little ammonia tank leak can be built up in to a mass evacuation, potencial terrorist attack, in the medias eyes.

Fancy taking on the CIA Arme ... AmerICA?

It happened about 5months ago.

the other side of the coin is,,

if you have your shit together,

all the right tools and equipment,

you realize and accept its going to be a rip you a new arshole noxious and are willing to ignore it and work through,

then filling little tanks from big tanks can be quite a fun saturday night event...

Actually swIm thinks that the birch would be so easy its criminal.

Its just that Swim sees so many cockups in the news, that he wonders what they were doing anyway?

Colorsteel prefab buildings (storage) with the roof just about peeled off, the garage door pushed out so far it flipped over!

Seeing the photo shot of the shower where the person ran to while still on fire, there was strips of skin about a foot long by 3 inch wide.

.

Hmm could we have like a Darwin awards of stupidity string?

Swim won't read fiction cause its all made up anyway.

Just finished Howard R Hughes biography.

Since someone went thru a lot of pain to find out what not to do,( clandestine chemistry) we should be able to learn something from it.

Kirby, What stuff do you read? Theres a lot of time decompressing.

some are ok wicked,,

ive only ever had a female as a bell partner once,,

she worked ok but couldnt handle the lack of privacy,,

from the living chamber we go into the TUP,transfer under pressure chamber,,,we undress out of our chamber clothes and put on cotton overalls,,then a cumbersome hot water suit,,lock the living chamber hatch,,open the bell hatch,,squeeze through into the bell and lock the tup hatch,,the the bell hatch,,then unmate and they lower us over the side,,when we get back,,

we do it all in reverse,,except in the TUP we have to hose each other down,,this undressing to naked, then dressing, undressing to naked, hose down and then dressing,,is difficult for the female

remembering we have to do this in a chamber no more than 8 inches from the other person

Picked up a new book,Mercenaries, Soldiers of fortune, by Tim Ripley. Good info, relates to what iv'e read here'n'wetdreams.

have you seen these books?

Across the roof of the world, by Hassalt Davis, (sp)

The jungle is neutral, by?

The search for the magnetic north, by?

Oro, by Cizia Zyke.

The two books about the 'Mr Asia' affair, about smuggling Thai sticks and Smack and murder in NZ's late 70's.

hi kiwi

hows things

sorry i didnt pick up on your earlier thread relating to the books..

and to answer you

yes i read one of the mr asia books

but many years ago and i have little recall of it

for the others no i havent

about 3 months ago i picked up a factual account of the battle fought by the 1st battalion 7th cavalry in and around landing zone Xray, followed 2 days later by the ambush of the 2nd battalion 7th cavalry at landing zone albany, these occured near the ia drang river in vietnam in 1965,,they were written by the commanding officer of the first battalion 7th cavalry whom were on the ground at xray..

this was the first war story id picked up for many many years,,one of the best if not best narration of a battle that ive ever read,,i was an avid reader of military history,,its battles and the lessons to be learnt from them..

i dont often pick up books relating to soldiering and fighting ,,it is very difficult to read them because you cant stop remembering your own experiences,,and i really dont want to remember them.

for many years afterwards, it takes a lot of concentration to not think about it,,then one day you begin not to,,from that point on,,you can begin to be whom you should be..

anyway

why do you ask on these particular books,,

and kiwi

the aussies and kiwis that fought over there werent mercenaries,,we were soldiers,, transferred under the intercommonwealth enlistment act,,this allows soldiers from other commonwealth nations to fight for causes they believe in.

i sit here now over 20 years later, and shake my head at volunteering to fight for white man supremacy and the subjugation of some 3 million black people in a land they had lived on for eternity..

that would have to be one of my worst calls ever..

i often ponder now on what would have happened if we had won..

Thanks for the quick reply Kirby,

The books are a few that I've liked,

Hassalt Davis was a explorer of deepest darkest Africa, early 1900's, made a few films I want to see.

Oro means Gold, Cizia is a French dude/mercenarie, has written a few books in French, only Oro is in English.

Its about his time gold digging in Costa Rica, Starts a working day by reading a page out of the bible to the crew, then uses the page to roll a joint for them, as a work incentive he fires a shot over their heads a few times a day, shoulda been bending over digging anyway. Best book since Papillion.

The Mr Asia is so fixed into NZ history that it has defined drug use here.

Tim Ripleys book has a lot of photos init and is generaly imformitive.

The jungle is neutral, is about WWII subversive action in Burma(?) by our side against the japanese.

Search for the magnetic north, is written mid/late 1800's, Surveyor trekking thru Canada etc to define where the mag north pole is, great writing. Extracted from his letters and notes as his diary was burnt in a fire. Cannabilism was frequent in that time for survival.

thank you,,

all those titles and story lines appeal to me,,ill find them,,,im reading at the moment a copy of a 800 page factual account about 45 wealthy english gentlemen whom separately hunt game in america between 1785 and 1870,,

each english hunter gets a chapter,,each hunter did between 5 months and 18 months..

as the years progress the hunts get further west till these last chapters are in the rockies around wyoming and idaho,,the majority of what you read are these mens notes,,its a great insight into what america was like for game through those years..

and if i worked for some guy who read from the bible,,then smoked it,,and was firing his sidearm over my head all day,,

id sulk and go home

Not sensors, but other hassels. In the train

yard; train workers/cops, train moves too

soon. Where do they drop the pesky things off? I'm just wondering, got no urge to mess

with that shit anytime soon. House

NH4 is strong/weird enough.

I've enough worry with switching from my

usual ISO, to this "lovely" "Methanol 99.9%"

Barring accidents, everything is safe if one

is paying attention. But is I paying/doing

that fine thing?

How do you think people have gotten caught stealing it?

When they first put it in, there were 5 arrests or people trying to steal anhydrous from the tank.

I dont know how they can tell if its a dog or a human, but they can. IF you step with in 10 feet of that tank, the cops will be there in 5 minutes.

motion sensors can be set to sensitivity to not be set off by such things as dogs and cats and birds etc. some are acitivated by a pressure pad buried a few inchs under the ground around the perimeter. those can be set to activate by weight/pressure. so a humans weight would set it off but a dog or cat wouldnt. surveilence technology is pretty much limited by what you can afford. theres some badass setups out there to be had.
