LSA *EXTRACTION*
my friend BOIE has a few questions.
-BOIE has read up on alot of extractions of LSA from HBWR, and most of them suggest extracting with methanol, some ethanol. BOIE does not understand why none suggest using water, a even less expensive polar solvent. is there something BOIE is overlooking???
-would calcium salts eliminate a majority of the impurities?
-also, does anyone know LSA melting and boiling points (BOIE was unsucessful in finding them).
...BOIE was planning on extracting with boiling water and then again with ethanol (or would you suggest spending the extra money on dichloromethane)
BOIE will take any suggestions (besides saying "just eat the seeds", BOIE is doing this even if you think it is not "worth" it)

Re: LSA *EXTRACTION*
ok lets start at the beginning,,
what is LSA
what is HBWR
i will have a guess,,but please answer anyway..
ill use grass and removing the thc from buds to make hash oil as an example..
the resin in the buds is an alkaloid,,and is not water soluble,,so you can not extract with water,,because thc will not dissolve in water..
ive extracted from buds with methanol,,and isopropyl,,go with the isopropyl if you can find it,,but methanol is ok too
hold on,,,is LSA,, lysergic acid...
if it is then purified water would be fine,,
get back to us with a better description,,thanks

Re: LSA *EXTRACTION*
LSA = Lysergic Acid Amide
HBWR = Hawaiian Baby Woodrose
(sorry about that)

Re: LSA *EXTRACTION*
THC is not an alkaloid. it's non-nitrogenous, and is fat soluble. acetone works as a solvent, so does everclear. if cooking w/ it, heat in a double boiler w/ butter and/or oil bfore adding to recipe.

Re: LSA *EXTRACTION*

Re: LSA *EXTRACTION*
As I posted in BLTC (MG) I have searched for
a comparison between the various methods of
using MG seeds. I've passed on straight seeds
have used water extraction. H2O works fine.
Am planning on naphtha extr. but would like
to hear others comparative ingestions. Is
naphtha ex better than H2O?
