She used Acidmelts slacker reaction. Started out with lower amounts than anticipated, d/t burning the psuedo in the beginning. Went through the entire process, but at the end, after filtering the remaining RP, and using the lye to adjust the ph, have been unable to clean up the end product. Seems to have a lot of iodine in it to me, HELP!! Have filtered more than several times, with the color remaining a medium brown, clear looking color. I wonder if possibly the P/P containers were to large (mason jar size), did get weak P/P, not the "violent reaction" descibed by some. Did get the ph of 12 told to go for. She has worked so long and so hard to get to this small place, and have apparently screwed up somewhere. Thank you in advance for your help

just a thought, swims had ( have been unable to clean up the end product. Seems to have a lot of iodine in it to me, HELP!! Have filtered more than several times, with the color remaining a medium brown,) and just np'ed, pull np and gassed, try a np pull , see if np pulls clear or pulls brown color with it, swim guess is it will stay in polar, and non polar will be clean with product. try a small pull, wont harm anything, easyer than trying to pull color by filtering???? thats if swim is reading ur question correctly.

My apoligies to you!Is there any way you can tell what the actual wieght of each precursor was.If your remaining color was brown well you definetly had i2 left over.If your reaction didnt take off that well im guessing you didnt have enough red in there.Could bee the red wasnt that clean maybe.If your still interested in finding out what happened post your cleaning methods of your precursors and wieghts.

sounds like it's too late for u to try this but if excessive redness remains after the initial filtering through the RP, try boiling w/ the condenser removed for a few min. this should clear the iodides. good luck.
