I remember awhile back in BB some one said that they stumbled upon some white phospherous. Some one else said that there is only one reaction they can think of that will leave you with white phospherous. The thread got closed and I never got to ask what the reaction is exactly. I don't plan on making any because it seems like some scary shit, it's just I'm knowledge hungry.

WP is produced in a furnace at high temperature from phosphate rock or calcined bones, coke and silica. It is formed when the phosphorus is reduced by the strong conditions(phosphorus loves oxygen alot!) and distills off then condensed under water.
Quite the process, people are trying to do this at home as we speak.
