Over Cooked
Hey some guy was dreaming and he did a 2gram nano and it all went ok... upon acid/baseing the final product looked.. smelled and tasted and smoked just like it should but there was absolultey no effects... the reaction was ran really hot is it possible the dope was simply overcooked?
Anyone else ever seen overcooked shit?

Re: Over Cooked
Never overcooked, your problem is withthe water, or something else. Good luck.

Re: Over Cooked
`What do you mean?
Well is it not possible to get it too hot? that dude dont know the exact high temps but the bottom of the test tube was sitting on an electric stove and it was bright orange from the high heat setting.
What problem could there be with the water?
Thanks

Re: Over Cooked
If it looked like it should, then it wasn't burnt, I would say, because burnt shit looks burnt. Swim dreamed he burnt one batch, and that shit looked burnt!

Re: Over Cooked
Yup, sounds to me just like one of the green batch's swim used to make, Ran good on foil, tasted about right, although had a bit of a minty taste, Gass'ed good, yup sounds like I-meth, undercooked, Swim made quite a few of those in his times lacking experience.

Re: Over Cooked
Well, yes more heat will speed up the reduction time, But, there are more factors here than just that, Did you use too much water? How clean was you RP? Was the RP 1st run new stuff? Was your cooking vessel oversized for the job ? znd so on, If you will give the guys here step by step how swim went about this green batch you will stand a whole lot better chance fixing what ails you before you have several more like it.
You are wanting to do the short dry hot method is this correct? you may want to start with a full 24 hour reflux first, they are not as prone too as many errors as the short cook

Re: Over Cooked
Here are a couple of tips for you as well.
When you swirl the vessel, and what sticks to the sides, see the red iodine around those small clumps kinda flashing and shining in the heat, that all needs to reduce to complete reduction, Notice how they hang to the glass and don't seem to slide down real fast and smoothly, when complete it will be a sunshine yellow and flow down easily. If you will watch closely, something that is hard for a noob to do, same as swim when he was a noob gets too impatient (common tweaker error) but anyway you notice that after a swirling the vessel all the stages that are taking place and will soon know when it is complete every time. Don't over swirl the pot, that more or less interupts it's job at hand, at first is fine to gets things all mixed up good, but after that, swirling is more for visual signs of the reductions progress. every 15 minutes is plenty of time in between swirls after it has been mixed and kicked off real good. Swims usually always last pretty much in the same time frame, But not always, Swim has hadf them go up to an hour or better over the norm using the same methods, probably due to measurement errors, and rushing prep time, as in cleaning RP, I2 glassware, too many things could be tossed in this eqaution
Now here is a way also to tell now if your reduction was under done, if you haven't done anything with the RP you used for that run, Throw some ISO alc on it or Acetone, Let it sit for a few hours, is it real real dark, maybe even dark red, if so that is a good sign it was a green batch, One of the things swim noticed when he got some more experience under his belt, the RP is not near as nasty when the reduction was allowed to complete, the RP had time to do it's reducing the I2.

Re: Over Cooked
Ok so it was most likely a green batch!
acetone was poured on the post rxn rp and the acetone was bloody red!.
all ingredients were lab grade and it was the first blow..
Anyhow it was a little nano in a test tube.. it was the curbshot nano and it was done exactly to par accept for the soup cans.. just used an electric stove for the heat source instead.
yes.. the reactants has some stick to them some... put also some of the rp was that brighter red dry color and stuck to the top.. thats why he thought it was ready... the temps were pushed to the max LOL..
Thanks for the EXCELLENT input... swimmer now believes the 24hour reflux is the choice of champs next time.

Re: Over Cooked
I am confused...You used lab stuff, and had a problem? Most would not be able to get tech grade, and if they could, they would not be able to fuck it up. Just a thought. I think it was undercooked.

Re: Over Cooked
swim gets away with bare min as far as grade precursers and still makes usefull product out of 3 to 6 hr burnes?, longest burn being a 10 hr... id say under cooked, but what is hot????, over 300 degrees, swim dont push more than 250 most times setting around 150 for 80% of the burn time??
