a HUGE thanks to those that helped out with question(s) i asked in the thread 'awesome iodine extraction' (oct 03)

A few thought the problem was in the rxn, not the crystal extraction....well ST KNEW it couldnt be in the rxn, considering all worked well (for a few years)until one day couldnt get anymore IO. Searching away, ST mentioned finding this site, (been addicted ever since to many areas of the community).

Anyways, problem was a couple of things in STs method of IO extraction process(practice DOES make near perfect, heh)

first, ST was told to put 2x amt of peroxide to the IO. THEN ST used a metal strainer..haha...:shrugs:

then, used pantyhose (not bad!)

also, ST only let sit for about an hour. letting it sit for a lot longer (ST now just lets it sit for a full day)was one key thing, so far, besides another piece of awesome advice givin by gottagogo (acidify first..thank you man!) AND last but definitely not LEAST of problems (probably worst) it was always wet when used. ST thought it was dry...but after continuing research ST found out that drying took awhile.
