Does anyone here have a good link to a reliable Methcathinone synth besides the one at Rhodioum? The one that poopeen posted sounds fairly simple and in plain terms but after that postal pat shit i dont belive anything he says.. And i also read a report on here that said they tried that synth and the product was total shit.

If any other swims have tried poopeens simple synth and had good results then let me know.

oh yeah i also checked worlocks synth on his snapshot of the old site but that doesnt use potassium permanganate.. thats also a requirment of the synth i would like to research. Thanks!

You need to go back to Rhodiums and look through the methcathinone section again. There are all kinds of oxidation methods for making methcathinone. Dichromate oxid.,sodium hypochlorate oxid., permanganates, peroxides, etc.

I know of an easy methcat synth (actually 2), but its a little on the long side, but incredibly easy! Really all you need is distilled H2O, psuedoephedrine, and KMnO4. I'm not sure if posting an entire synth for a schedule 1 substance is kosher on this bulletin board, & to be respectfull, I won't. however you can e-mail me your mail box info... e-mail at ibotengutake@comcast.net If I could remember where it was I picked it up at I'd let you know, but I'm drawing a blank.

This isn't my synth, I'm just regurgitating what I read somewhere & don't want to take credit for someone else's hard work. Either way it sounds pretty simple.

Methcathinone Synthesis

Materials required: Collander w/ small holes, or large sieve; pseudoephedrine tabs (100x30mg); potassium permanganate (KMnO4); distilled H2O; Turkey baster/ syringe able to measure ml.; isopropanol; acetone

1. wash the pseudoephedrine (p-fed) tabs however you feel is most effective as long as only distilled water is used! Minerals from tap water mess up the synth. The goal is +/- 3g p-fed.

2. Measure the KMnO4 (100ml holds 7.43g KMnO4) Do this at room temperature. After mixing the KMnO4 into the water let it settle, undissolved particles will sink, so measure about 15ml-15.5ml* off the top of the mix.

*(The p-fed/ KMnO4 mix should be 2.5Mole to 1Mole. (3gp-fed/1.148gKMnO4) So 15.45ml of the KMnO4 solution is needed- but for quick kitchen synth 15ml is fine.)

3. Dilute this with 250ml H2O, and put into fridge @ about 0c to be temperature.

4. Put p-fed tabs into jar, and pour 150ml H2O over them, and microwave until hot not boiling, stir into powder. Let settle, and filler/ binding agent will fall to bottom, leaving p-fed in solution. Pour slowly through non-bleached coffee filter. Repeat extraction process for sludge caught in filter two more times= 3x 150ml extractions are combined, and chilled next to KMnO4 in fridge.

5. After chilled enough, combine the two mixtures, mix well, put back into fridge, and left alone for +/-10hours.

6. Now there should be two layers in the jar, a mostly clear one, and a opaque brownish one on bottom. Add about 100ml isopropyl is added, and stirred.

7. Let the mix sit on a shelf for about 2 hours @ room temp. Then when at room temp, filter through doulbled filters to remove particles. Best to take filtered solution, re-chill slightly, and filter again. This solution should smell like pistachio ice cream! The solution will be slightly alkaline, so add muriatic acid (LITTLE BY LITTLE) to make slightly acidic. Stir well, wait and measure pH.(5-6.5pH best)

7. Pour solution into pyrex dish, and dry.

8. Wash the crystals with acetone, but save acetone cause methcat is soluable in it, so just evaporate, and retrieve crystals.

Why would you wash it with 'tone, if it's soluble it 'tone? Washes are usually done to clean up a finished product.
