KI questien
ok can some one please tell me how to correctly get iodine crystals from ki.. i have a good idea on how to im just not sure of ratios..so could some one please help...

Pickup a chemistry text book or check around online search google for a periodic table and then use the "mole weights" to calc your ratios.
Like KI for example... K = 39.10g and I = 126.9g so then one mol (a mol is a certain # of molecules its just a standard) of KI = 166g
So if you wanted to say theoretically dream about reacting it with oh I dunno...
H3O4P
you have to do a little intuition/math here...
(how many mols of) H3O4P + (how many mols of) KI = (a balanced equation which means theres no random letters (elements) unaccounted for in the equation)
so H3O4P + 3 KI = 3HI + (I dunno what it goes to.... and Im late for an appointment hope the mini chemistry lesson didnt just further confuse you once you figure out the molar ratios just adjust according to % of mol your working with)

Dissolve that KI in some H2O, add some H2SO4, then NaOCl. Flood with more H2O and filter out I2.
