Ergot
I've seen methods for extraction of LSA from seeds but never Have found a method for xtract from Ergot. Is the method similar? If some one could give me a quick rundown or just a good link that would be great.
Peace

Re: Ergot
I don't think that rhodium has an extraction method for ergot.
You will need to do a basic non polar extraction of all the alkaloids, there are many different types so look up their solubilities to be sure you are getting all the lysergic acid derivatives.
Then once you feel you have a decent crude extract, dried and cleaned you need to purify it with column chromatography. This will give you perfectly pure starting material. (combine all fractions that prove to be lysergic acid amides, how you determine which ones are which I dont know)
Then you would hydrolyse the material to recover lysergic acid, and workup.
This is the same method that one should use on LSA from morning glory seeds.
