Nutmeg Myristicin extraction
Anyway seeing as how nutmeg(well the shit in it) is a precurser to MDA how would one go about extracting the Myristicin out of it?
seeing how safrole along is not good for u and causes unwanted side effects and elemicin hasnt shown to be the main cause of the hallucinogenic properties of nutmeg (leaving only myristicin as the one to cause hallucinations).
i couldnt find an extraction on erowid.org but have read reports that regular myristicin alone acts like mda(in some ways) and has fewer side effects than with regular nutmeg.

Re: Nutmeg Myristicin extraction
Steam distillation of the plant matter, followed by fractional distillation of the resulting essential oil.
BTW, myristicin is not a precursor for MDA. It is a precursor for MMDA and family.

Re: Nutmeg Myristicin extraction
madchemist: MMDA-3a = related to MDMA
would there be a way to turn MMDA into MMDA-3a (seeing as its the more complicated of the MMDA family) then into MMDA?
MMDA: 3-Methoxy-4,5-methylenedioxy-A
MMDA-3a: 2-Methoxy-3,4-methylenedioxy-A
MDMA: N-Methyl-3,4-methylenedioxy-A
now im not that genious in chemestry but humour me.. the only difference between MMDA-3a and MDMA is the N-methyl/2-Methoxy part.

Re: Nutmeg Myristicin extraction
if there is a way to do that, someone let me know (in layman's terms) since dumping 2 teaspoons of nutmeg in a shot of vodka is the only way I have found to ingest this legal buzz buzz.
I mean, if you can come up with a way to smoke, snort, or turn into a pill, that would be keen. I did that a few times, and woomp, there it was!

Re: Nutmeg Myristicin extraction
There's no easy or practical way to convert between the two.
A methoxy group attatched to the ring in MMDA, compared to just a methylenedioxy group of MDMA (the N-methyl part doesn't count as it deals with the amine, not the ring substituents) is a big difference, IMHO.

Re: Nutmeg Myristicin extraction
Swims asked about this before, I know what you mean. Getting the áctive'ingredients out of nutmeg. Grinding it up and soaking in IPA or Acetone or MeOH or Pet Ether then evap off the solvents gets you a red oil and soft white soap. The soapy stuff is trimyristin. The red oil should include the 4% myristicin. Myristicin is the starting point for MMDA. MMDA sounds more fun than MDMA. There are a few methods, bromine or RP/I or Formic acid+ . Swim dunno if it works, but it seems no one else has tried it. The bromo thing was written up like it had been done before. there is a misspelling of Myristicin & Myriscticin. Hope someone replys to this thread. Rhodium's site gives more info but no real answers. What would you call it? Mistress Sin?
