I havn't posted for a while, but I had to share this new discovery. It is in this forum because there is a scientific principle involved. There are lots of ways to separate dry trichomes from cannabis leaves, bags, boxes, screens, etc. But I came across this by chance after storing a bunch of mid grade bud clippings in a plastic tobacco can.

I was crushing them up to throw them into a batch of muffins when I noticed that after stirring the leaves around while trying to pulverize them, a fine green powder accumulated on the sides of the tobacco tin(plastic), I wiped them off and tossed them in the bong, BLLLAAAAAMMMMMOOOOO. Good smoke.

The principle: Tobacco tins, yogurt and sour cream containers, etc are made of NLLDPE, Non Linear Low Density Poly Ethylene(I used to work at a plastics recycling plant). Basically, if this shit gets a positive or negative charge it will attract or repel other charged particles, same as rubbing a balloon on your head and sticking it to the wall. The glandular trichomes of the marijuana plant, being a resinous(bonded hydrocarbon) substance, have a - charge when very dry.

Practice; grind your shake and small buds up really fine, use a blender or just beat the fusk out of them and pass them through a common kitchen sieve or flour sifter. Put the powder into a VERY clean VERY dry yogurt or sour cream container, the one Quart or one Litre kind. Put the lid on and shake the container vigourously, then rub it on the carpet, your head, your dogs back, whatever as long as it imparts a charge. Take the lid off and wipe your finger around the inside, a bunch of green fuzz will stick to your finger. You can tell it has a different electrostatic charge than your body because some of the particles will actually stand up, looking like iron filings on a magnet or somthing. Scrape the green fuzz off onto a collection tray and repeat the procedure until nothing accumulates on the walls of your yogurt container.

The result is a greenish powder that when microwaved and pressed takes on all the characteristics of good quality brick hash, or if simply smoked is a great, if somewhat harsh, conversation grade sharing smoke.

PS: I no longer post here because I am trying to be drug free(read: piss test probation), until I am free of all legal reasons to stay straight I would just as well not even think or talk about drugs, even posting this is really making me twitch.

and then you scraped it up and smoked it

when your clipping good buds over extended hours you end up with fingers covered in fine hash

Swims noticed this static electricity thing before, when rolling up on tupperware lid.

Its not a bad idea, go with it. The dust normally gets wasted anyway so its not taking much from the gear. Swims co-offender gets the gear dry&sticky then cleans a glass topped coffee table. The gear is grabbed by the stalk and wacked on the table for the length of the gear, the gears twisted around a bit, then wacked on the table again. The glass table gets a fine layer of sticky oil on it then this starts to stick to the dust in the gear building up to a thicker layer.

When finished the hash is scraped off with a razor blade. Good luck. e
