SWIM was thinking about this today,,,since water and alcohol are both polar solutions, can a person use alcohol when titrating. In other words, can SWIM add "HEAT" instead of water and then drop some acid into the solution, shake, siphon off "HEAT", then evapoorate? SWIM cannot think of any advantage of using alcohol instead of water,,,SWIM is just wondering if it was possible. (SWIM know that SWIM misspelled titrating in his topic but for reasons that are beyond SWIM he cannot edit it.)

Of course the advantage would be a quicker evaporation time.

Some alcohols do separate rather easily from most organic solvents, however some do not. SWIM suggests trying IPA (iso-heet) with solvents like xylene or toluene (SWIM doesn't use naptha so couldn't tell you). Try mixing some of your organic solvent with some of your alcohol before trying anything to see what they do.

Meth is readily soluble in alcohol at higher temps. Meth is readily soluble in water at room temperature.

Jam.
