opinions & experiences on RP recycling
I have noticed alot of PPL here ask this question, And I also noted that most experienced guys as a rule of thumb go 3 x's with their RP. So these are the questions I have for you 3 round cook out men.
1. Does your product appear to degrade after each use.
SWIMS answer: No Sometimes the reduction takes a little longer though.
2. How are you fella's cleanin it up between rounds?
SWIMS answer: When it dries, it is chopped up fine with a razor blade then washed three times in alc and three times in DH2O, more if deemed necassary.
3. Do you change the ratio of RP to E after every round?
SWIMS answer: go to 1 to 1 instead of .8 to 1
4. Do you discard the used RP after 3 rounds or do you stock pile for hard times.
SWIMS answer: stock piles it, has used it again w/o too much product suffering, have added a little I2 and a few drops Peroxide for reaction kicker to the whole saved mess, applied some heat for a bit, and had another dream.

1. SWIM notices a loss weight wise but is positive that with proper cleaning it is even better than 1st run RP, nothin cleans it like the hydriotic acid environment of a rxn. SWIM doesnt believe the reduction takes longer with used RP provided its cleaned properly.
2.SWIM soaks it in denatured alky 24 hours then tone soaks it for 4 to 6 hours drys it out almost totaly then boils it in muriatic acid. SWIM boils ALL his RP in murry wether used or new. outside of course. followed by hot DH2O rinses untill acid can no longer be smelled. when boiling in murry make sure you do it outside and never leave it unattended. it will climb out of the flask and be all over the place. when it comes to a boil it will start to expand and climb, SWIM removes from heat and swirls flask untill it subsides (20 to 30 seconds) then back on the heat untill it starts to climb again (again 20 to 30 seconds) SWIM keeps this action up untill a minimum of a 5 min boil has been achieved.
3. SWIM dont change the ratio. after the RP`s 3rd run SWIM trys to mix in new RP at a ratio of 50% used 50% new. Ware over at CH2 ran a test to see how far the RP would go before a rxn failed. he cleaned it properly between rxn`s of course. he ran the same RP in 7 rxn`s. the 7th rxn failed. they were nanos of 2-3 grammers. but it gives a general idea of how far it can go with proper cleaning before the rxn failed. with SWIM`s cleaning process he wouldnt hesitate to go 4 to 5 runs wthout worry.
4. SWIM discards nothing

Re: opinions & experiences on RP recycling
Thanx for info Wicked, I guess SWIM thought the RP was morwe fragile than it is, but SWIM may just try that process and see if that takes the reduction back in time.
