a question about iodine extraction?
swim obtained a pint of iodine from the feed store today the bottle says "1 pint equal to 1% titratable iodine.......3.1%v/v" to this swim added 1 pint peroxide, 250 mls water and 25 mls of acid, it has sat for 2 hrs and nothing has developed, untill now swim has been using the 2% tinc and crystals always form after about 30 minutes, swim was wondering if he did something wrong or if this tinc needs more time or what? could someone kindly shed some light? thanks

Re: a question about iodine extraction?
you need 7% without the povidone.
the 1% povidone = useless

Re: a question about iodine extraction?
SWIM thinks you may have added to much peroxide to that mix but not for sure as he has never seen that particular mix.
