lava lamp confusion
im a bit confused with the whole lava lamp idea regarding the role light plays in the reaction. On the bees nest alot of people argue that the light is GOOD for the reaction .. breaking the iodine down into free radicals thus making it more reactable with the RP. Swigotta on here, and a few others, believe the light is harmful to the reaction.
would anyone have any scientfic evidence to support either case cus im stumped. I just want a reasoning to back a method (light, no light).
cheers folks!!

Re: lava lamp confusion
The light supplies the heat, which pushes the rxn past the equilibrium point.

Re: lava lamp confusion
mnm...I think he actually means the light itself...as in like the brightness....if it makes a difference with a light shining on it or not? I honestly don't have a clue but would be interested in some input.
