Default Oxidation of P-eph

Has antone out there tried to react clean e with 100% CL2 either gas or liquid? If it worked couldn't you finish the synth with Hydrogen gas?

Sorry to have wasted your time. Please note username, as it implies, I am new to this. Some of the processes I have been reading about made it sound like a viable alternative. Thanks for the reply though.

Hey no prob, username noted. And you didn't waste my time, your post had entertainment value.

I hope that didn't sound too condescending, I do however wish you luck in your quest to learn chemistry. Find a few textbooks, gen chem and organic. I'll be here to answer quwestions you have once you grasped the basics, and if you need shit clarified just ask.

I really do thank you for taking the time to answer questions from every idiot that feels like posting. While I was waiting for a reply, I went to Rhodium and looked up some basics and had come to the same conclusion. I just got side tracked and was seeing what I wanted to see, instead of thinking it through. Next time I will think before posting. thnx again
