i've got a lot of shit left over from my unsuccessful DXM project(dont ask). anywho, i've been considering apprenticing a friend of mine on organic chemistry, and he needs a cheap extraction. i was considering this, and it seems like a typical a/b extraction. i just want to know if anyone thinks it would work, so i dont go wasting any more money and chems than i need to.

Overview:

1. crush pills to fine powder. pills to be used are actifed(or alerfed, don't remember).

2. Add pills to ammonium hydroxide solution, and shake the hell out of it to freebase the pfed.

3. add 1-2" of naptha to solution, and proceed to shake the hell out of it again.

4. Let solution seperate, collect naptha layer and save ammonia layer for second pull.

5. gas naptha layer with HCl until no more crystals/powder crash out. Add water and shake like hell.

6. let seperate out, then remove and evaporate water layer to yield pseudo-hcl.



I know this sounds like an a/b ripoff, which it is. i just dont feel like buying more chems if i can use what i have. anyone think/know if it will work?

sounds ok to me though ive never done 1
