Default question about flasks

am i to understand that you never want a flask to touch a skittet or direct heat contact?

and adding vegetable oil to skillet would prevent this correct?

also what does decant mean?

thanks cause swix is bothering me about this

a real flask is designed to take direct heat from a bunson burner or heating mantle so its safe to put directly on heat. the reason for the oil bath is so that the temp can remain a bit more constant (exact) due to the on/off action of a hotplate. as the hot plate cycles (gos on and off) the oil maintains the desired temp so the flask temp does not fluctuate up and down as much. use the oil bath tho regardless. it is the proper ghetto way.

decant simply means to siphon off. in most case in this game you would use a piece of aquarium air pump size tubing to decant the liquid off of the mass (pill mass, RP, etc) good luck to the crazy bastard lol let us know how it turns out.

Decant, means to pour off, or more specifically, to pour off the top portion of two immiscible solutions.

Decanting is ussually done with an insoluble solid and a liquid. You let the solid settle and pour the liquid off. I suggest that the original poster do a shitload more reading before they attempt anything.
