Ok, first let me start by explaining the basics principles of meth. The complete compound of methamphetamine is symetrical when you split it down the middle. There is a right side (abreviated d- for dextro) and a left side (abreviated l- for levo). The d-methamphetamine makes you more alert, but has little effect on the heart and blood pressure. The l-methamphetamine raises blood pressure and causes the heart to beat rapidly, but does not make you more alert.

What you want to do is isolate the d- from the l-, and change the l- to d- by "oxidizing and reaminating" it. Now, if you had pure l-methamphetamine, all you would have to do is oxidize it and reaminate it. Luckily, Vick's Vapor Inhalers are made from cotton soaked in l-desoxyephedrine (another name for l-methamphetamine). Vick's uses it for the same reason asthma inhaler makers use it, it opens up the walls of your tracea/nose, making it easier to breath.

My questions are:

1) Are Vicks Vapor inhalers 100% l-methamphetamine? If not, what must be done to separate the adultrants?

2) Is it basic or neutral?

3)When you add HCl to change it into l-methamphetamine HCl, what molarity should the HCl be?

4)When you evaporate the H2O in the solution to get pure l-meth HCL, Will the H and Cl molecules break apart, leaving with l-methamphetamine again?

5)Once you have l-meth HCl, do you oxidize it by simply exposing it to air?

6)And finally, how do you "reaminate" it.

If all these steps work, you should be left with pure d-methamphetamine HCl, the best form of methamphetamine EVER!

Dude, a simple reduction from ephedrine would be a lot easier! Anyway I don't think those inhalers even contain l-desoxyephedrine anymore.

i agree with both of them lab tips for sure.... and the (psuedo)ephedrine extraction is easier but still not easy.

The vicks inhalers don't have levo meth anymore (if they ever did). That's why the synth doesn't work.
