would someone be able to clarify the uk equivalent of mineral spirits as used in the full turps cure, i have done many searches all with contradicting results.

would any of these be suitable

white spirits

artists white spirit

or maybe there someone could suggest an alternative

try www.diggersaust.com.au (http://www.diggersaust.com.au) look at the MSDS and that will tell you what is in the mineral turp then you may be able to find your equal

in the first stage of the cure,,you will have read you can use toluene or xylene as well as mineral turpentine or mineral spirits,,,,run with the other 3 over min sprits,,,,i can say that white spirits is hexane,,in australia its shellite,,,,the cure looks a yank recipe, as such, mineral spirits may be anything,,,,and youll find no difference if you use either toluene or xylene in stage 3 where it calls for mineral spirits,,,good luck
