When swim cleans his matches after adding the dh2o some of the rp floats to the top is this stuff good too?

Try to let it settle out after soaking for a little while. If it still floats, get rid of it by decanting.
If you are worried about yield losses, then decant through 3 coffee filters, save the filter cake and put it through further cleaning such as HCl or Tone boils.
Chances are, that it will be too little [dirty] RP to worry about losing.
