Default Typical newbie question...

Let me apologize in advance for starting this thread. I am a newbie, and while I've read tons of material in this particular section, I've yet to resolve anything in my own mind. The dilemma:

My friend had a dream. In this dream, my friend is trying to choose a synthesis for d-meth (in particular ICE). His problem is that there are so many recipes to choose from and he can't decide which to use. Also, he is sometimes constrained by time since he has a job, having, at most, 20 hours or so to monitor his concoction. I would be much appreciative of anyone that could tell me the best recipe for the best quality meth given the time restraints.

Again, I apologize if this horse has been beaten to a greasy spot...hopefully some of you remember the bad ole days when you had to walk in my shoes.

ok you want an opinion,,heres mine,,choosing the right method perhaps would be a better term than the right recipe,,,,most cooks come to meth from little or no chemistry knowledge---this means that the easiest 2 methods to learn are the birch reduction involving ammonia/sodium metal lithium or redphos/iodine,,,,to choose from these two, dont look at how there done but look at your ability to access the required precursors,,,is it easy for you to get or manufacture anhydrous ammonia,,,,or would you rather play with match striker pads and crystalize iodine---read on those two methods at rhodium,,check around where you live to see availability of precursors,,,and get back to us with any questions----goodluck

all the info is here rhodium or the hive dude. Minamilist amount of questions really have to be asked. I have pages and pages of printed out chat from this forum. If you dont understand just re-read over and over with other posts on the same topic and you will understand pretty dam quick .. if still in doubt THEN ask a question.

but i think if jer got half a brain you will be more than fine.

A little while ago, I changed my philosophy on helping fresh raw meat. A newbee is someone who has some of what he has read pictured in his mind. Fresh raw meat is what sounds a lot better to me. OK, meat, let me take a stab at this.

Wait a minute. I'm not ready yet.

kman--

You have won the stump the chump award. What does patawan mean?

Kirby--

Hey, <snapping fingers> hey, wake up! Could it possibly be that LT meant that he shared a very similar viewpoint, thus thinking that prhaps you were cheating by copying said viewpoint from his paper?

Harlequin--

Do you consider your screen name an adjective or a noun?

OK, I'm ready now.

Consider everything kirby just said and add this to it.

In my opinion, the rp/i is the most creative as well as the most customizable method of reduction. I am biased though. The main drawbacks to consider are:

1. It can require long cooking time.

2. Red Phosphorous is hard to find. Matchbook strikers is the only source I know of.

3. Compared to the anhydrous ammonia method, precursors must be relatively clean (the lower the rxn. temp, the more forgiving it is in this respect.)

Some of the benefits:

1. Everything is OTC and easy to find in medium sized to big cities. (US)

2. The actual reaction environment is very docile. Nothing that blows up. (Corrosive acid is about it)

3. Wide variation of end product, but very repeatable when same conditions are met. This allows the creator (thats you) to adjust various elements of the reaction to tailor the final product to suit your own taste.

4. Can be set up in a lavalamp (and other relatively safe heat sources) and left unattended for long hours (once stability is established) without worry.

The last part has become a topic of interest for Swigotta and I have already acquired and modified equipment necessary for his first set of experiments with safer, "set it and forget it" methods that seem to have gained popularity as of late. Data is already being gathered on this theme.

I forgot a couple of things. Forms such as "ice" and "glass" and "rock" etc. are accomplished by different recrystallization techniques, not the method of reduction used. Meth is meth. One more thing, d meth is the only meth of any value to people here so its not necessary to specify.

SWIM has dreamed 5 times of pr/io RNX, out of those 5 times, 3 came out great to ok, 2 times swim dreamed of notta thing of value.

swim has learned in those dreams that the RNX is not to hard, finnishing off the product not to bad other than swim got carryed away with the lye, a lack of ph measureing devices, but product was useable.

swim has learned that in those dreams that purity of ingredence (RP-SUSE) is very important and rather tricky, take the time needed.... cry iodine is too easy..

swim has read in dream world that one should read and not try,,, swim would be scared to try lith/annie method as it is a tricky method as far as safety goes. BUT swim dreamed he saw it twice done with rp/iodine method by quick cooks (3 hours) and seen large , good, things come from it, even though,,,,,, swim learnes by little personal ( swim and his cronies) supplys and is pleased with outcomes so far.

Read some, ask a little. pick a way , practice, what little loses swim has dreamed were worth the effort even if just for the ( swim tryed it) idea.

practice makes perfect. and cronies beg for more.

Thank you very, very much everyone, you have been very helpful, and I fully intend to take any advice given. I still have some reading to do, and I may ask another question or two, but I will try not to ask a question that has already been covered. Thanks again.

Not that it really matters, but the word for a Jedi apprentice is spelled *padawan*. Yeah, I'm a Star Wars nerd.

Kirby....gotta and rainman are right. It was a joke. I didn't mean that you had copied it from anywhere....simply that after reading the post, I had the same thoughts that you had come to mind. So I acted as though you were copying my paper. (like when I was back in school...) get it?? ahhhhahaah no? Forget it.

I forgot about the one who got me in trouble in the first place, that young rat tired. See, he's doin it again. Kids these days.

Oh great Obewan kirby, gotta holds you in very high regard for your thought provoking wisdom. Therefore he must explain that he was absolutely, 100% kidding. This whole joking thing is the fault of wicked and horse. They are the wicked ones (pun intended) who have caused me to stray. Since you and I (and those other two heathens) probably haven't thought a whole lot about school in a few years, I guess it's understandable that you could miss the old cheating off the test paper thing. I apologize if it seemed offensive or condescending. Since my posts are being catalogued and quotes painstakingly documented, I should watch what I say. (yeah, right) Anyway, I hope you know I wouldn't seriously be rude to you.

There was something I wanted to address. Now........hmmm......where..here it is:

RNX57--

slept on it five times and was happy three sounds ok so far. What I wanted to tell you is the lye is not a problem when you over do it. As you become more familiar with the visual changes in the solution as it becomes increasingly basic, it will be easier to get the pH high enough without adding too much base. pH strips or a meter will help you to see what things look like at each level of increase. Then when you run out, you're not guessing anymore.

When you do add too much, simply wash it a few tims with brine (salt water) then warm water and finally cool water (all water used is distilled). You can even wash it the first time with lye water. It sounds strange, but water with a slightly basic pH from the lye will actually pull out more base from the NP than water will.

I believe you are right about the nature of the rp/i. I have always cautioned jumping into the reaction unarmed, but if you must DO something, this one would be the best to play with.

It sounded like someone was giving you a hard time, but it appears to me you ain't doin too bad.

thank you for that info, it is greatly appreciated as i tryed to read and not ask, haveing dreamed of seeing such a thing was a great help. even though swim did nothing till researching further on the topic as it was hard to keep up with and could not take notes as it was a dream. im sure it would be tough to understand if reading on it was all one could do, the combination of dreaming and reading is what made dreaming worth it.

nice to meet you all, and have a great day. RNX57

about my screen name .. to be honest the only reason i chose it was because i think it sounds pretty cool .. when u asked about it being meant either as a noun or adjective .. it got me thinking. The answer would have to be neither.

I used to play this online game called majormud .. it was my characters name .. sad shit ey?

for all of you that dont know ....

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=harlequin

(i aint some poofy guy that wears tight coloured lycra .. but i am bit of a goon, joker etc. (good old highschool days))

if you really need an answer .. id be a slight case of the adjective meaning of the word.)

a bit long winded for a question which doesnt achieve much in the way of topics discussed :>

I'm not "down there," i'm "up here." Tough talk is cheap on the net. If you want to come up here, maybe we can meet up, and see who gets hurt. I'm used to little teenie boppers talking trash in the net, but I thought the adults on here were beyond such such nonsense. You might make sure you can back threats before you imply them. To keep this in the spirit of how it's been going-I will represent!

OK, I see what has happened. Everybody tried that you know what method (I can't say cause bill will give me a hard time) and its beginning to take effect. Notice a little edginess coming on?

Seriously, I did not know that about the word dog or dawg as we spell for its intended form. Everywhere you go you get that as a greeting. "Yo, what's up dawg?" It's slang for all those words someone else mentioned but originally as a substitute for "player".

OK, now topic............

Ice will come out really well just by dissolving your product in a little alcohol then adding about 4-5 drops per g. used of water, then adding a drop here and there to keep it from evaporating for 5-10 days. Then let it evap all the way. You will see them form long before you are through. The slower they form, the bigger and clearer they will be.
