zippo fluid
Hey, i was wondering how much zippo fluid would need to be consumed for it to be fatal? I'm using it as a non-polar sovlent, but I'm afraid there may me some left over in the final product.

Re: zippo fluid
its hard to visualize what you mean when you say you possibly have solvent left over in the final product---explain what reaction you did, why you think solvent is there,,and why your final product is a liquid

Re: zippo fluid
Most "Zippo Brand" lighter fluid is Naptha RNX57%. Matter of fact, SWIL happens to have a can in his room.
By-the-by:
Your name- RNX57%??? Shouldn't it be RXN57%??? U know, Re-aX-tion(RXN)?

Re: zippo fluid
To answer your question:
Naptha is a combination of a number of different petroleum distillates.
One of it's primary components has an LD50 of 49.0ml/kg

Re: zippo fluid
sorry ld , swims not sure what a re-act-shen is. but swim dreams alot about really nice x-tras on 57th street. should i change my nic ? or could i just keep my mistake as a simple nic,, hehe
also as being rather close to bradford pa, home of zippo. there are additives in zippo lighter fluid not stated on the can, as its a small percent. swim still sticks to naptha vmp. since swim knows a few persons there at zippo swim will ask on the exact info of whats in zippo fluid.
swim remembers sittin @ the bar and hearin that zippo has extra things in its fluid to benefit the zippo lighters.

Re: zippo fluid
RNX57%: Very interesting. I don't know what's up with your name, that's not really my deal. It just looked to me like a 57% HI Rxn(such as in the reduction of pseudoephedrine to methamphetamine).
As for Zippo fluid, I wouldn't trust He-said-she-said. I live by an ocean, but that doesn't mean I can tell you what's in the seawater! SWIL's can of Zippo states that it contains Naptha. Nothing else is listed, no patents, nothing.
I think your friend might be confusing zippo fluid with Coleman's Fuel, which is also Naptha but they add a rust inhibitor making it a teal color. On Coleman's can there is no contents listed at all, not even naptha. I believe it states it is a mix. The zippo fluid is perfectly clear, and mimics the can of Sunnyside VM&P that SWIL had previously.
You say you like to research, would you be willing to dig up some info???

Re: zippo fluid
Hi Kirby, nice to meet you. I dont know of that area as im in the NW area of penna, corner of NY and Ohio. I believe valley forge is in the east side of penna, and i have never been there.
Supp lukky, no you are right, i did do a typo. I wanted RXN57% but after a close to blotched rxn, SWIM did get some rather good strong product and i think it caused my typo, lmao. rnx thinks swim put a bit in my coffee.. but i guess ill keep it anyway.
lukky read some of this as im not a pro by a long run, but i think i read it as 2 ingredients. id like ur thoughts on it.
Section 2 - Compositon/Information on Ingredients
SOL ZP (ZIPPO LIGHTER FLUID), 84157
Ingredient Name: BENZENE (SARA 313) (CERCLA) (< 30 PPM)
Ingredient Name: VM & P NAPHTHA; (SHELL SOL ZP)
http://msds.ehs.cornell.edu/msds/msdsdod/a449/m224174.htm#Section9
ima guess 30 ppm is to small to put on the can but i am guessing at that. i do know upping the ppm of co2 ina grow room to 2000ppm with proper lighting will grow ( plants ) 5 times faster than out doors
thanks for the input lukky, nice to chat at you, be safe.
rnx57
PS: stabbpeople, the above link will enlighten you on the effects of ingesting lighter fluid
