yo kirbs man .. you said in an earlier post that you would write up an "aussie" pill extraction method. Is there much difference in procedure between cleaning aussie pills of 60mg and yank pills 60mg? .. or can the IDEA method be used? (since they are dry matrix formulated). Naptha is a solvent discussed in this method, what would the australian equivilant be?.

An exact full rundown on how one would extract the pseudo from the australian brand 60's (sudafed amcal codral etc) that dont contain antihistamine paracetamol or codeine would be a dream. But if you cant be arsed then fair enough :>

ok,,this is how friends clean the brand pills you wrote of---the solvent measurements are for 30pks--all solvents are dried----grind pills down to finest dust---spoon into 2 litre beaker and pour in 1.5litres of mineral turpentine100%---stir for 30secs then let sit for 24hours--filter off turps and throw turps away--bring 1 litre of toluene to simmering where 1000s of little bubbles appear-- then spoon in pill mass and bring back to simmering, stirring and scraping beaker bottom continuosly (this avoids any pill mass sticking to bottom and burning)---when simmering again,keep at simmering for 8 mins whilst stirring and scraping continuosly---then take off hotplate(NEVER FLAME)and allow to cool and settle for three mins---then pour through filter(for minturps/toluene/acetone washes i use three paper towels folded into one,only use handee ultra crisp white paper towels manufactured by carter holt harvey tissue australia bought in any chemist) and throw away toluene---repeat toluene wash twice more--after each wash spoon back into beaker pill mass from filter---after filtering 3rd wash allow pill mass to cool to room temp--then pour in 1 litre of freezing acetone---stir for 3 mins--filter and throw away acetone---repeat acetone wash once more---now immerse pill mass in 600ml of methylated spirits 95% and stir for 3 mins---filter off metho(for this i use coffee filters,mellitta or harris coffee brand, 10 to 12 cup size, brown unbleached papers,DONT use any other brand)(place 3 filters inside each other)and save metho(always spoon pill mass from filter back into beaker) in 4litre container---rewash pill mass with 800ml of metho stirring for 3 mins--filter and save metho---rewash pill mass with 1 litre of metho--filter and save metho--pill mass can now be thrown away---place metho into freezer for 5 hours---take out of freezer and refilter(place cotton wool balls down the funnel tube and 3 coffee filters in funnel)always return unfiltered metho to freezer whilst filtering--metho should now be clear--if not refilter using new filters--when metho is clean, then evaporate off the metho--as you get to the end of the metho, take off hotplate and allow to finish evaporating at room temp---now do an A/B extraction on the mass left after metho evaporated---filter out (coffee filters)clean white psuedo from the A/B and thats your freebase ready to go into reduction

kirby can you use any other solvent insread of toulene for the turps cure i am getting grief on this solvent?

i dont know your age,,,,or what you look like--but if your under 30,,have visible tatoos,,earings,,long hair,,,,,,then your going to cop flack over toluene,,xylene may work though ive never used it---perhaps fixing your appearance may work--my advice is do the miles and get toluene

we know naptha as napthalene,,,and its extremely hard to find---ive found hexane does the same job---we know hexane as "shellite100%"--manufactured by diggers and sold in the solvent section of most hardwares

toluene vs mineral spirits

both a non polar solvent and in some pill extraction techniques such as full turps cure .. it is highly recommended over the toluene.

he said its hard to obtain toluene in his area.

BUT if kirbs can get it without much hassel .. then i shouldnt have much trouble

(toluene = class 3 solvent .. no record of its purchase needs to be kept by stores)

might have to get some overalls i think i look to neat
