if radiation pills are ingested, i dont think there is iodine in them, because iodine is EXTREMELY TOXIC......
look up the MSDS fo r iodine, its quite informative..

135mg per tablet of potassium iodide is what is in the pills. read that you can get pure iodine with a reaction with copper sulfate. how to do it tho is the question.and what amounts would it yield

Just a guess, but probably 15-20 to get a gram.
Do you have these things by the thousands? If you don't, it's probably not worth your trouble.

yea, its potassium iodide, not the same thing, and gotta is right, its to complex a procedure for too little yield...
just get some tincture, its faster and easier.
