I know this is a noob question, but whats the best solvent to use to extract the red P from striker pads. Any help will be much appreciated

Ether may be extremely combustable, but acetone isn't chopped liver.
Once you get to a certain point, it doesn't matter the degree of combustability. Both of these cross that point.
If you like to be frugal and recycle the used solvent back into the system, (like letting the glue settle and filtering what pours over) alcohol is not a good choice. The "stuff" in it just seems to hang there forever. In acetone everything settles prtty quickly, especially in the freezer. It filters fairly clear. Certainly good enough for pulling the goop from the strips.
