most likely, he wants it so he can theoretically produce methamphetamine. it is a precursor for the RP/I2 synthesis of meth. it is on matches, but in low quantities and impure.

you want to use the red substance on the matchheads, not the striking surface. scrape it off and grind it up, using non-metal tools. you should know, however, that this is not of suitable purity for use in synthesizing pure methamphetamine hcl, but it can be used for "dirty crank."

No, he actually does want to use match striking pads, they are what contain the red Phosphorus. And cleaning it up to a decent grade isn't that hard.

Moving to Lab Tips.

use the striking pads, get alot of them, put in a jar, add anhydrous acetone, shake, really good, let sit, shake some more, and let sit, do this for about 4 hours, then take out the left over striking pads, and let sit, now u get 2 layers of powder, one is a RP and acetone layer, the other is the glue and glass impurities from the striking pads, throw that out.. then evap/boil off the acetone, and bingo, you got your shit,

SWIM would recomend siphoning off the acetone into a waste can over boiling it. its dangerous shit when boiling off. then wash the RP with DH2O at least twice.

u can also use the caps of from road flares about .01g from each cap much easier than matchbooks

A road flare contains about a tenth of a gram, not a hundredth of a gram. Much more expensive than strikers, even at a tenth of a gram.

go buy 20 boxes like swim =) $18 lol =) cut for hours then drop in acetone add hcl let sit then keep mush dry real good if i have mislead in anyway go read wickeds post it explains step by step with measurements it helped swim.
